Why don;t you p.m. someone like Jake he has his own bodyshop

I would guess at just over £1,000 and that's if the car is in good nick and that Ford paint ain't too expensive.

p.s. - I still prefer the Ibiza Eclipse Blue

The cost of the paint is probably the cheapest bit. It's the labour and prep and finishing work that's gonna cost

I had a mate who wanted his car sprayed in a Ford paint, OK so it was an Aston Martin Colour the Paint was very expensive.

All I menat previously was that it diffcult to give a price without seeing the car, it's condition and checking the paint cost

If i was you i wouldn't bother. I have a zetec s, imperial blue, nice colour......only on fords though as its a ford trademark colour.
Some kid in my town owns a Rover 220 GTI and has had it sprayed Imperial blue, its shocking, i feel embarased for him everytime i see the car. Some cars you do and some cars you dont, some colours you do and some you dont. I think imperial blue is a ford colour only.

The best colour for an Ibiza i feel is a colour that was used in manufacturing on european Ibizas. Its like a green/blue, gun metal colour, it looks pretty smart, and like i say, its a standard colour on Ibizas in Europe, but they never bought that colour out on them over here.
Im sure one of the lads will be able to fill you in more or get some pics posted.

Depends how you want to do it too. Might involve: remove/replace engine, re/fit glass, remove/refit interior. For my Ibiza to remove, refit, prepare and paint a door inc paint and labour starts at ~£180 (no VAT and cash) up to £550.

From CGTI: Ford imperial blue codes H HA4 HW HW2 HX ; 4 different shades. Now you can get a quote for the paint from your local paint shop :)

howdy, any good body shop will hav an in house colour scheme so they mix the paint to requirements rather than order it in bulk, they use tinters which are all different colours which are part of the finall colour say your ford blue it will consist of light blue, dark blue, blue pearl, green pearl, black, magenta, silver metalic and white. our paint is dupont and is a good quality paint (they sponsor nascar) it has a life time garuentee and is just good. a repaint is difficult to quote on

do you want to go all out and go in the engine bay if so then its got to come out, all the doors are stripped and taken off, the glass is removed includind front and rear screen bonnet and boot lid off, poss wings, bumpers and also the entire interior, so you can save big chunks of cash buy stripping/building the car yourself

then you have body work if the car is tidy then there is only body prepp if there are dints the you need to fill, prime etc which is where the labour adds up.

the paint process if no repairs are needed is quite straight forward, we sand/d-a the body using 320's followed by 400's grit discs, the edges are keyed using scotch brite and then the shell is blown off, vacumed and cleaned with a chemical degreasing agent, the doors will be put on free stands as will the bonnet and boot and bumpers allowing us to do both front and back, put in to the spray boot/oven, degreased and painted at 29C and baked/cured at 80c,

the car is next after masking its put into the booth degreased, i usuall mix 2 litres of paint for a respray which is usually enough.

first coat is value shade a ground coat that is coded to your colour impereal blue=black/grey, this flashesoff(let the solvent evaporate) then the first of three coats of colour is applied with flashoff in between, then the clearcoat/laquer is applied one of three coats again then finally baked at 80c

when done we flat the car again theis time with 1500' grit and machine polish the full car to a glass like shine,

so for the people out there who think painting is dear now you know why

by the way your looking at £1000 - £1200 for the job

Personally, I think the Seat dark metallic blue found on Leon's and mk3 Ibiza's (also called "Imperial Blue", spookily enough) is a much nicer colour anyway...

Don't go with the cheapest quote but go for the bodyshop that is going to strip the vehicle down and not mask up all the mouldings, glass, Etc. as if they do this it will cause the paint to flake round the edges.

The bodyshop I help to run would charge around £1750.00 upwards for a full exterior including door shuts.
