If I change my oil in between the regular service intervals, will I invalidate my warranty?
I intend to use GTX Magnatec Diesel Oil and a genuine Seat oil filter and sump washer etc.
Any thoughts?

as long as you follow the standard intervals @ your dealer it shouldnt be a problem i reckon http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

Flapper - do you get many customers requesting "extra" oil changes?
I asked my dealer if they would change my oil at 5k as well as the usual 10k and I had a sort of look that said "this bloke is a bit strange". All I want to do is keep my engine on top form without spending £60 for an extra oil service at 5k.

we get a few oil burners in for the same , so you aint strange dont worry , comes from the old days of nasty oil that needed to be changed @ 5k http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/frown.gif
we do a few , not a problem shoulnt be no more than 45/50 @ the most though id have thought
filter £15 + oil + washer + labour ??

I know this is an old topic, but I have supplied my dealer with Mobile 1 Turbo Diesel for its last 2 servises (10K & 20K), They seem happy to knock of £32 approx from the bill for their own oil.
The biggest thing i find to get my head around is differences in price for services. I have been quoted between £197 and £70 for a 10K service on my TDi, with even bigger differences on the 20K service (£82 - £260).
I admit that the cheaper one was up North, but wow, what a difference.

The service prices vary if you are a high mileage user on the 10K but 20K should be the same no matter what.
We are happy for customers to supply their own oil and long as it matches the correct specification.
Additional 5,000 mile oil changes are a good idea as people are protecting big investments so the price is a small one to pay.
