Had a quick demo of a pair of Focal 165a's today and liked their smooth and clear mid bass delivery. Before I part with my hard earned, I was wondering where people have installed the large crossovers, in the doors or behind the dashboard?
My car is a Leon TDi SE, thanks for any advice. :)
I'm waiting for mine to turn up, had them on order for 3 weeks.
My best mate has them in his MK3 Golf...they blew me away! He's installed his crossovers behind the door pockets, but thats only because the MK3 has enough room to.
I have got polyglass v2 fitted in the normal tweeter location of my mk4 ibiza. I did have to cut off the protruding bits of the plastic trim panel, but was ok.
Scrap this...I text my mate who's getting them for me and as his boss is a complete arsehole, he never picked them up from another store, so they sold them.
I'm so pissed off.

Damn it. Just got back from Halfords (selling the Focals at £79.99) and they are out of stock everywhere. The pair I demo'd yesterday have been reserved. :thumbd:
To be fair the sales assistant called around a few of the other branches and they are all out of stock. I've just been ringing other branches myself and they are non-existant!!
Will keep an eye on the online retailers to see if their prices drop down a bit. Still like them though so will probably go for a set when I talk myself into it next week :rolleyes:
ToXXxin - any ideas where to get a pair at reasonable cost?
That's where mine were from, but I was getting them with staff discount on top, so they would've been £67.99. My set were ordered from Dundee and then for some reason left in Peterborough. The previous set that wre ordered from one of the Birmingham branches "disappeared". I hate Hellfrauds, I really do.
Phoenix Gold Octane Rs might still be in stock, they were something like £59/69.99, these are what I might have to get now. I threw away the price list as I knew what I wanted at the time.
