Would have thought they just unclip off.
Another painting question. Is it possible to re-paint the dashboard clock surround's? Do they come off?

Anyone know? See above question!
Easy peasy to do...
Fold the mirror in, put your hand underneath it and you'll find a hole big enough to stick your finger in. Use that as a lever and pull the cover off, being gentle with it.
I've done it a million times :)
Primed mirror covers are £7+VAT ish each. If you're a Marshalls customer (or even if you're not) go into there and order some in, saying you have a Marshalls card, but have left it at home. You should get some money off.
Stephen O, you on about the rings around the speedo, etc? If so, ask Rage as he's done it. I seem to remember him referring to it as a "pain in the arse" to do, and hearing the word "broken" a few times in the conversation.

Be proud of your yellow dials - they'll grow on you eventually, mine have !

O boy am I glad I don't have 'em! It's good that they grew on you, though. Probably you just have to try to get used to them. ;) Somehow I'd still understand yellow rings in a yellow car but any other colours... I wanted to paint my dial surrounds (no rings) silver but couldn't get the damn thing off and it looks too difficult to mask anyway.

The yellow dials have grown on me now. I actually quite like em.
I phoned my unhelpful Seat dealer today to get soem primered mirror caps and he said Mk4 Ibiza dont have painted mirrors at all. Just paint the original one's! Is he talkin utter crap!?

 he is talking utter crap because the SE model and the 04 year TDi Sport models come with painted mirrors, as does the FR. I got some grey primed mirror covers from my dealer. About £7 each as toxxin said. They offered to get them sprayed in my colour - Eclipse blue, but at £45 each for this, I have sprayed them myself, and seem to have got away with it :) . Halfords should be able to match your colour pretty well.
Just need to fit them now.
Cheers

Yeah i believe so, but it's easier to paint the primered one's. And for £7 each might as well have em.

Yeah, well, I had mine painted at the stealership. Am not confident doing any car painting myself as I want the paint to stay on...

Mine needs redoing as it's started to peel.
Choose a good bodyshop and make sure they prep it properly!!!

I have a feeling you can't just buy the centre bit, as I think the side bits come in the box too. The set for my Arosa was about £25 including the glue

I thought that you could buy the centre grille in chrome? Isnt it fitted on newer Ibiza's as standard. I know the Outer smaller chrome grille's are accesories.

It is, but remember that's factory fitted.. something tells me it'll be a kit for aftersales..
I guess the factory chrome bit replaces the black one that came standard on your (and my) car. But I guess you can't buy the factory center piece. It's the three-piece accessory kit that they offer. The center piece stays on with glue (filling the grille-bonnet cap so that the edge of the bonnet hits the chrome bit) but the side ones are so bad that I don't believe they'd stay on even with glue! (Never considered putting them on anyway.) The center one looks nice, though, when installed. The kit is just ridiculously overpriced for three chromed plastic bits and a tube of the finest Spanish east coast glue. :D
