My ITG arrived today. Fitted it tonight and the hose and filter itself fit perfectly. The scoop which connect to the slam panel however would not fit. My guess is that the kit has been designed on the Polo GTi which may have a slightly different slam panel.
My Cupra has the battery in the boot so its the filter with the 90 degree bend and facing forward.

Has anyone had this problem? How did you overcome it?

Did you order the kit for polo? My itg dosent have a bend and the itake pipe goes behind headlight

I ordered the kit for the Ibiza with 'battery in the boot' which is different to the kit for Ibiza's with a battery in the engine bay.
Technically I have the kit for the Polo. If you look in my progress thread you will see the full kit with the scoop that connects to the slam panel.

a had the same problem mate basically had too cut a load of that plastic off
Or get some silocone tube and feed it to the intake, just means its not quite as big an intake as it should be, but at least it will be cold.

Yeah. Cut the plastic behind grill. Its in the way. Btw can you put a pic up of the kit on without the engine cover. Wanna have alook to see how the pcv system works on yours

aye as lucifer said cut the plastic from off the grill if you line the scoop up with the grill you should be able to see were the plastics in the way
On the Polo there are two metal tabs that have to be bent back for the intake fitting to mate up to the front panel. After that the fitting is basically the two screws to fix it in place. However the only thing I am not happy about with the intake is the way the steel fixing bracket is glued to the plastic feeder tube. This came unglued within the first week of fitting and since then I've had to re-glue it twice.:(

Yea the fitting instructions mention the metal tabs which are not present on the Ibiza. There is just a lot of plastic around that will have to be cut out for the scoop to line up properly.
And I will have to keep an eye on the glue giving up. Probably melts with how hot these engine bays get.
Did you notice a difference in performance with you ITG Hurdy? I know the dyno results speak for themselves on your car but how did it feel to drive with the new filter?
Also, are you going to York raceway easter Monday?

I definitely noticed the difference with the intake. A lot more responsive and a better top end ooomph.
Yeah, I'm still hoping to get to York on Easter Monday. [B)]
Hurdy(anyone), What diameter is the ITG connection for the intake filter its self, just wondering if I would need to replace most of my set up or just swapout the Forge for the ITG.
Also,
You going for a dash up the 1/4 @? I want to do that @ york too. Should meet up and go. Should be free Easter monday. Fancy it?

For the price of the ITG filter itself; even if they will supply it on its own you might aswel buy the full kit.
The silicone hosing is very good and fits the breather pipe well.
I'll be at York on Easter Monday :)

Sound is so much nicer with the ITG kit fitted
Video Pt1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31PEOa7oVKk)
Video Pt2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y-m8_R6nHA)
Would the kit not be able to connect with the OEM intake scoop at all?
nice. :)
would u say its worth the money?
nice. :)
would u say its worth the money?
I am a little biased  but yes.
When I first installed it I could feel the extra pull in the midrange and I love the sound

Is this just a problem for the models with the battery in the boot? Has anyone had problems fitting the kit with the battery up front?
those videos you dont red line it once :/
That a request mate ;)

Shouldn't be a problem with battery up front

Well after having another look at the scoop for the cold air feed it looks like the only way for it to fit is to cut some of the plastic on the slam panel which I didn't want to do. So I have drilled a small hole in the slam panel and cable tied the cold air feed ducting to it and connected it up to the filter.
At first I thought how much difference can it make. Turns out ALOT. The supercharger is louder again and its pulling very strong throughout the rev range. Really pleased :)

I'll not be able to get a picture now that its on, its cable tied at the bottom.
Basically what I did was, drill a little hole on the bit of plastic that sits horizonal just under the opening for the cold air on the slam panel. I then punched a little hole in the bottom of the cold air ducting. Put a cable tie through the mouth of the ducting, then through the hole I made, through the hole in the plastic and tightened it up.

The ITG is the only one worth buying really at the moment. Its £270 from Awesome GTi with free delivery.
£270 !!!! is the performance game £100 more than the forge one?

The Forge filter hasn't had had any proven gains worth looking at. The kit looks shocking aswell.
The ITG has had proven gains of 15bhp and 35ft/lbs torque on Hurdy's car.

What about the Vw racing one
£270 !!!! is the performance game £100 more than the forge one?
The Forge one is a generic filter where as the ITG is a specifically made for the 1.4 tsi engine.
IMO it's well worth the extra

Since I've had both a forge and VWR intake I'm in a fair position to say the forge gave no gains at alland bboth my previous tuners believed it o be restricting power whereas the VWR(ITG) hasgiven a notable gain at the top end
it is a lot of money to spend on a filter :/ Ill probably get the tmc box first if im honest.

My modified Forge kit gave mine 187bhp- though no comparison to standard but it must be doing something. But does seem the IGT/VWR (same thing guys just a different decal) does make a big difference.
My KIt cost me about £100 in total.
