Hi, I have a Seat Leon 20vt (1.8T) with 5 months of use, now is 10,000km and I’m having some problems with the front suspension and brakes. I’m looking for technical info about the Leon but I can't find some, Seat appear not to be big enough to pay for technical manual like those from Robert Bentley to VWs.
Does any one know about an official tech info or support site from Seat? or where to buy a service manual? For me is very important because the dealers in Mexico are terrible, they don’t know how to care your car and worse they don't try to!
The troubles of my car are like follow:
The main problem is with strange noises in the front suspension like clicks and clacks while starting or stopping at low speed (like city traffic). Also there are some creaks during the suspension travel, apparently this noise come from the rubber bushings of the front sway bar (there is another post with this regard, see “Creaking Leon”) The most important problem is the miss alignment and wheel off center after 300 to 400 miles of use just after a precise laser alignment. I’m still looking for more info about front suspension or any recall from the factory. Now the car is in the service workshop (not the dealer) and they are looking for possible solutions. We found some movement in the lower suspension arm bushings, like a factory-exaggerated tolerance between the bushing and the screw. I’m thinking replace all the front suspension bushings with urethane siblings, does any one have experience with this?
In the brakes apartment, the only problem is a minor jerk while the first quick push of pedal that apparently puts more pressure in the left caliper. This produces a very disconcerting balancing of the car when braking at about 60 – 70 mph. This problem is with the car since new and the dealer ran the ABS calibration with the VAG but nothing changed. At the workshop now they are servicing the front calipers and maybe this will fixit.
When the service is done I will report the changes in these problems. If someone has similar problems please let me know.
