Hi.
Can anyone recommend any sill protection for the 5 door?
I don't want to pay Seats prices. I have custom vynal ones on my Leon but can't seem to find any for the Ibiza.
Thanks

lockwood make a 3 door version, but will produce a 5 door one shortly, pending them getting a car to measure up from.
they are looking for someone in leeds area, or someone prepared to travel there.
unfortunately i done live near leeds.

Thanks for the heads up, i'm having an early lunch friday and taking the trip up the m1 to see them :)
Like the look of the 3dr ones how they protect both key bits, and it saves me the hassle of measuring up and then designing my own from 3 layers of vinyl.

Will do :)
Would people prefer to have an all in one single spiece that protects the whole sill or the 2 piece design they do at the minute?
Might as well make some views known while im down there.

i think the 2 piece version would be better, as the bottom one can be placed right on the edge which is most vunerable,or to the owners position of choice.
looking at the seat manufactured protectors that cover the whole sill, the lower sill is not protected on the edge, whats more, there may be a copyright infringement if they are made like theirs.
and many thanks for your efforts in pushing the availability of these a step nearer

Just got back from Lockwood.
Bit of bad news, it's looking like it'll only be the front doors that get done, they don't think the backs are flat for long enough to make it worth doing. They might be doing a flat piece for the back depending what the gaffer says.
fingers crossed.

thank you nightflight, your efforts very much are appreciated. well if its only the front doors, it is better than non at all.
i presume they are just cutting the 2 door variant shorter to fit the smaller 4 door

No, the curved piece is custom measured to get the length and curve just right as the sill curves over at different rates in different places, the flat piece is the same size as the mk2 Leon one so they'll just use that as teh template and write IBIZA on it.
I'm hoping they do the rear flat piece, as I think it'll look really good as it's 1.5cm wide at the back and 2cm wide at the front.
Just a case of wait and see now I guess. Should have my set here in about a fortnight so I'll get some pics and review the kit when it arrives :)

Now, just to pimp my car out as a development car for the remaps lol

Well, a bit later than expected, but none the less, the guys at Lockwood were true to their word and a nice shiny set of sill protectors arrived over the weekend.

They've opted to just do the front doors as the rear doors weren't flat enough for long enough to bother with. Think I'll get some clear vinyl and make my own.

Fitting instructions were easy enough to follow, few things I learned along the way.
1. don't be too cautious and use loads of water, a small dab run along the sticky pads is sufficient else you end up crouched for ages holding the damn things in place waiting for the adhesive to hold!
2. The hardest bit is working out exactly where they should go, I finally decided to trust Seat and line them up equidistant between the ends of the raised section of the interior sill.
(It'll be more obvious when we get a break in the rain so I can clean the car before taking some fitted pictures!)
3. Don't slide them around the edges are sharp enough to make a mess of the paintwork. pick them up and put them down gently.
