I don't think so.

Enjoy the car :)
Where abouts are you based? should bring it along to a meet somewhere, so others can see it :)

Yep, I have. :)

Only 53 miles on the clock so far (yes, I picked it up today!) so I can't really comment on it much more than what I learnt from demonstrator. Firm ride, very little body roll, plenty torque and poke. An excellent all-round "warm" hatch, imho (although I may be a little biased... ;))

1.8 20VT. :)

I could get you photos if you buy me a digital camera.

Mine's a black one, rather than red. I've noticed that the mirrors generally aren't a popular colour on the FR, and it does look a bit dodgy in photos. But in the flesh, it complements the silver light housings perfectly, and looks pretty neat to me.

I agree in the flesh especially on a black one they look good to me too. In photos i did not like it but in the flesh they look ok especially on a black one and i really like the look of the rear lights on a black FR. I expected not to from photos.

if silverish painted mirrors are ok for the new £35,000 audi A3 RS3 then there good enough for an ibiza FR.

I'm ordering a TDI FR in a few weeks (waiting for cash), I went to the Nottingham dealer today to have a nosey (again) they've got a Black 20v and a Platinum TDI.
Platinum is very nice but the Black looks much better in the flesh, especially as it was a great sunny evening it looked totally ace, might go get some pics with the camera tomorrow. The rear lights, wheels and mirrors look best with the Black and it seems more agressive somehow. Its so frustrating having to wait for it though, it best be worth it!

Only thing i noticed was that the inside of one of the Black one's headlights was totally covered in condensation, wasn't too impressive, hasn't put me off though

yeah the black ones do look good but hey i would'n wanna clean one.

Mine will be delivered to the dealers in 2 weeks and i will pick it up 3 weeks today, i also managed to get the aluminium vent surrounds and the aluminium gear gaiter surround. I am still not sure on the wheels though and think these will be on e-bay very soon. I want either a set of Leon Cupra r 18's or a set of anthracite OZ Superlegras.

I have also ordered a GFB Stealth Dump valve from Graham goode racing. Cos i gotta have that ptttsssh sound, and these babies let you have a split re-circ and atmos dump valve. I also am thinking about giving the car to Miltek so they can develope an exhaust for it, not sure yet....

I am currently changing jobs and i am giving back my compnay car which isa mk4 golf. But before i hand the golf over i am going to swap the grab handles. As the Mk4's are the same but are damped so they slide back into position slowly.

ANyone know anything about tuning them, or what the running in period is, I wanna look after this car as it is my first brand new car, and i intend to keep it for many years.

Handbook says 1000km (i.e. 600 miles) of gentler driving, fading out to 1500km (about 950 miles) when it's properly run-in. :)

I don't think mine's gone over 3000rpm yet! I'm just driving it very gently at the moment - once I'm confident it's run-in and everything bedded down nicely, I'll start letting it stretch it's legs! :D

presonal question time.
Hope you don't mind me asking this.

What sort of deal did you guys get on one?
did they through anything in or give good trade in or what sort of money off what sort of deal did you manage to get?.

thanks
Geoff.

i'm paying 12715 for mine from a dealer, thats outright without trade as i just lost my company car due to job change. For that price i got the aluminium air vent surrounds and gear gaiter surround.

Mine was low 13k (list price was £13790, I think. Got about ~£600 knocked off that), with usual freebies such as a tank of fuel and a couple of useful accessories.

And of course the ubiquitous floor mats. ;)

Not as impressive as Ant FR's, but I don't think I did too badly since a couple of other dealers just weren't interested in those kind of prices, and wouldn't even match it, let alone beat it. Maybe they'd just met their sales targets for the month and simply couldn't be arsed. That's the problem with buying cars at this time of year with the new registrations out.

Well i am quite lucky,

Lloyds TSB my soon to be ex-employer offer a thing called cars4staff. Basically because they buy so many fleet cars and do own a few dealerships, they offer amazing deals on new cars. So what i did was get a quote from them and gave it to my local dealer and said, if you can beat the deal they are offering then you can have me cash (not quite so cockily as that). And the guy true to his word, did. The onlty thing i was a little annoyed at was i did actually want cruise control fitted, for £100 its useful through the speed cameras. But if i ordered one with it , then the car would be special order and would be here for september, so i chose to leave it and now pick her up in 2 weeks time, Already bought the dump valve for it.

Hi everybody! I'm Jos from Greece and I 've got my 20VT for a couple of months..... I can tell you that it's great an d extremely fast for "only 150HP"... My Ibiza is silver and I replaced the original with new JE Design 17" Alloys whith 215/40/17 Michelin Pilot Sport II. I must admit that the change of tyres was necessary (previously same alloys with Dunlop Sport 205/40/17) because it was impossible to find grip....

I have a question... Before this one I've had since this October one 1.4 Ibiza TopGun (115hp) and one Ibza 1.4 sport. Both had excellent brakes, though my FR seems a little bit worse... It doesnt have that feeling of breaking especially with the 16" Alloys.... (thats why I replaced them... I also want to add that at the FR the rear suspention is much improved and controls the rear more ... but I liked more the Sachs dampers of the TopGun!!!

Can anyone provide me with details or a brochure of all the little accessories that you can get for the MK4 Ibiza. My local SEAT delaer didn't have any when i asked.

I just want to personalise my car with things like honey comb grill maybe and the aluminium surrounds that are available, what else is there?
