Difficulty: 6/10 (Just because of the lower mount!)

Tools needed:
Spanners
Sockets
Screw drivers
Trolley Jack

So I changed my stock mounts on the cupra for the THS mounts. Started off by removing the battery and coolant housing to get access to the mounts. If you have an induction kit on it would be wise to remove the whole side of it by the battery.

Then using the trolley jack support the gearbox underneath before undoing the right mount (facing the car)

Change the mount and then replace the battery etc. I almost forgot to take a pic so here is one from below lol.

Now support the engine with the trolley jack before loosening and removing the left mount (facing the car).

Once this is done you are free to replace everything to the way it should be as you will now be moving to the bottom of the car.

Remove the subframe AFTER marking it with a white marker. This is just to line it up as best as possible when replacing it. You will have to break the old mount out, there are two of them, as it is as tight as anything and I tried pressing it out but no luck.

Clean the inside of the subrame if you have scored it so it makes it easier to get the new mounts in. Use some lubricant and make sure the threaded section of the mount is on the right side and be sure to line it up correctly when putting into the subframe. Once this is done insert the other part of the mount also taking care to line it up correctly or you will have issues removing it again to correct it.

Once this is done feel free to replace the subrame and bolt it all together again.

If you have disconnected the battery and you have a remap you will need to reload it, if you have an SPS swith it can be done that way or visit your mapper again. You will also get some lights on your dash, don't panic, they eventually disappear LOL.

Hope this helps anyone wanting to do this further down the line.

When dropping the subframe, 6 bolts and the drop links so the arb drops down with it, or did you need to remove the arms too?
