Has any one else looked at the option of adding aftermarket A/C to their beloved. Had a phone around today and none of the usual cow boys do it. So i called up VW and enquired the part s came to a reasonable £1100 !!! (Ha Ha). Does anyone understand what makes up an A/C system so i could perhaps shoe horn one in to my car.

As i understand it you need the following VW components

Compressor £615 +vat
Condenser £309 +vat
Evaporater £150 +vat
Pipework £100+ vat
Untold fittings £???

Expensive request... air conditioning is surely quite complicated as it runs off the engine and through to the facia. Not exactly a must have mod, is it? Get a sun-roof instead :D

Don,t be silly hindey!! Air conditioning is where it is at come the summer how can i enjoy watching my tv if i'm all hot and sweaty!!!!

I`ve had a break through you can get nearly all the parts needed as patent parts for a saving.

Found a company who will install a kit that is included in the vw warranty for £1490 +vat. Big job though 2-3 days labour.

Plan three find a written off lupo with all the gear intact and get it serviced. get the spanners out and have a go !!

Written off lupo's with A/C has any one got any chicken's teeth?
