Hello to everybody,

It has been not to long ago that I have changed the stock Brisa R/TP, with an Aura R/CD.
However there is a small "malfuction" if I can call it like this. While the swap took place, all the cables from the old headunit were pluged on the new one, but due to one strange reason the display of the dashboard does no longer work. It remains idle, dead, not even a light there.

Since the R/CD was from a Leon Cupra MY 2003 and as far as I know the cars as from end of 2001 stopped to be equiped with this display on the dasboard - and mine is a MY of 2001 might there be a only a simple code to be entered through the diagnostics so that the display will be operational again?

Thank you all and sorry ofor the long post.

Dont think you can do it with the newer Aura units (v4). The older (v3) units had a separate pin-out for the display. IceMan should be able to confirm....

Good to mention it, but after a small search over the net, I manage to find that only one headunit AURA was produced from Gruding for the account of Seat.\
If in the meantime Seat in co-operation with Gruding have decided to develop another type of R/CD...

IceMan maybe could assist on this matter, let's wait for his comments...

The V4 doesn't have the display output, you'll need an older HU for that, I think all the CD's are v4...

Sorry but you'll have to do without the display in the dash mate.

Hello again,

It was indeed not a possible way to combine the headunit with the display on the dashboard, as I was told. :( :( :( :(
The headunit was taken out and all the cables as it was expected normaly pluged on it. However the guy there told me that the speific cables on the HU are ment for use with the Leon 03 -04 MY where the specific wiring is used for the controls on the steering wheel...

Therefore I wanted to ask if I have to find an Aura HU, which was made for the specific model with the display on the dasboard, would it be possible? Could Seat supply such a spare part from an outdated model????

Thanks everybody for their input.

You should be able to get hold of one, But it's going to be very expensive to get one from Seat. Why do you want the dash display?

I'd like to ask if there is possible to connect the ΚΕΝWOOD KDC-M7024 with Leon's dashboard screen? I've read that my MP3 player has an OEM screen out, but I don't know the exact wiring. My Leon model is 2000.

You'd need an adapter. I'll find out if one is made but I doubt it...

I like it because it makes the dasboard look better, after all the Senso level of accesories at that time back in the early 2001, did not include the trip computer, which is the display right underneath the one I wish to operate again.

I think that it is a matter of taste, so...

By the way the Aura we are talking about is the one which has a socket for the earphones, on it and also on the backseat tweeters, this was available on the Signo version till the early 2001 models.
As to the pricing matter, it costs approx. 512 € after a small inquiry to the Seat dealer this morning, I think I will try to find a used one.

By the way the Aura Tape/Radio is it compatible with the 6 disk cd changer of Seat?

Thanks

Yes all the Auras have changer controls.
