Aye aye fella's...
I have a couple of questions (as usual)..
I am wondering about air filters and possibly induction..
Are there any induction kits that are suitable for the Ibiza 20vT..??
I know there were a few being trialed by people and some had problems with shafting your MAF sensors, so I wondered if there was much of an outcome from the testing..??
If so.. could you let me know what to buy.. and where to buy it from.. I will then have to get it fitted by somewhere around here, as I have no clue how to fit anything to my car.. lol
Right.. next...
If not an induction kit... what improvements would I possibly see from a performance filter..??
I noticed that APR are selling the K&N panel filter with their tuning packages and wondered if this would improve flow and maybe either performance or induction sound..??
Is the filter that is recommended on their site (KN 33-2128) the correct one? how easy is it to fit..?? and are there any associated problems from having one? (like oil coming off them onto your MAF sensor and shafting it?)
So... any ideas would be muchly appreciated.. so I can possibly look at starting off my 'modding' small scale and fairly discrete to see how my dealership react, before moving onto more identifiable items..(like chips.. lol)
Thanks in advance..

Induction kit wise, Jury's still out, Bills tested the BMC, Petrolhead Paul has got the blitz on, and mighhty fine it sounds too.
Stay well away from Oiled Filters, Apexi do a dry one, but no-ones tries it as yet.
Panel filters, K&N do one as on the APR site.
Improvements, anything that gets more COLDER air in is good, but as Bill stated, the air feed is tiny.
Max you'll see is about 5BHP if ur lucky, most Ind.Kits give about 3BHP with a good air feed, panel filters IMO will give next to nowt in figures, but just help it breathe more easily.
As for whether your dealer notices anything, you put an induction kit in and you have to take the airbox out, so you see it as soon as you open the engine.
You pays your money etc etc etc.
Should be in Hull mid-end march, any u chaps up there fancy meeting up?

I have tested the BMc so far and am waiting delivery of the Hurricane one for testing. The BMC did not flow any more air than stock surprisingly. It did have an improved induction note and slight DV phhhhhsssssshhhh noise but thats about it.
i will retest both the BMC and Hurrican against the stock unit as soon as I get the Hurricane in.
I will, as ever post the results for you all. :p

DP Motorsport in Warrington will supply and fit the Universal Apexi induction kit to the Ibiza Cupra.
Not sure on price yet, but under £200.
I'm trying to decide whether to get the Blitz of the Apexi... the Apexi has much better filtration (From the tests i saw.), has similar airflow to the Blitz but I'm not sure if it will sounds as good! :)

Thanks for the posts guys.. I will have a look at the induction kits before making a choice then.
I was thinking of getting a K&N filter panel to replace my standard one, until I make my mind up about the induction, so might just go ahead with ordering one of those if I can find somewhere to source one from.
As for fitting.. how easy is that? simply open box and slip it in where the standard one is? or technical trickery required? as I am in no way a mechanic of motor vehicles.. lol
I like the sound of a 'better sound' from my engine.. I have a few mates that have induction kits on their cars, and think one on mine would make a nice tone, and even better if I change zorst too.. will do the small things now (not large performance altering ones) while the weather is sh*te and maybe look to greater things when the sun is shining.. and weather is sweet..
again thanks for the info.. *looks around for somewhere to source a K&N filter panel from*

try Larkspeed on Anlaby road - they do the K&N.
Trenton failed to spot my Jabbasport chip despite nearly 2 weeks of diagnostics !
Saul - let us know when you are up here as i also live a few miles from Hull

Cheers turbo-northener..
I got my pads from larkspeed, will give them a ring this afternoon if I get chance..
as for trenton.. I don't think they would have noticed it if you held a sign in front of them.. but one of the mechanics is a bit of a boy racer (drives a modded to hell saxo), so he maybe noticed it and just didn't say owt.. ??
I am unsure if they know the difference between the Cupra and the Cool though personally.. don't seem to treat either car differently even though one is a 'show jumper' and the other a 'work horse'..
I am sure they won't say anything about a simple panel filter.. if they do I will change it back.. simple init.. :)
let me know if ya meet up.. I will see if I can make myself available..
