Hi All,
I'm currently the proud owner of a MK1 Leon Cupra R, Due to the miles I'm currently doing to and from my new Job I'm sadly going to have to let it go. I bought it for 9K two years ago its had a nice bit of work done to it but now I can only sell it for about 3.5K to a garage and about 4.5K private :(
Running around 278-280BHP, Custom stainless exhaust, Jetex air filter, jabba heat shield and some big ole brakes!

So obviously I'm used to a bit of power and the ability to stop quickly, but that all has to go now and I have to trade for something more sensible atleast until I'm not doing 85 miles a day.

Thankfully my parents are helping me out a little and I can either have their 2011 MK6 Golf TDI 1.6 or get myself a 2010/2011 Leon FR.

Now their Golf has all the trimmings, everything from a Reversing camera to all round parking sensors.

Or they could sell the Golf and lend me the money to get the Leon FR.

My concern really is the Golf is practically brand new with some free servicing attached, It does about 60MPG on the motorway and I know its been exceptionally well kept.

Great economy, exceptionally well built aswell, I do like that Golf.

The Leon FR I have my eye on looks exceptionally well kept... and Whilst its not a Cupra :( I have to really look at this diesel option.

What sort of economy can I expect from the FR at motorway speeds?
Are there common faults or issues I can expect?
Do all FR's have Cruise control?

Honestly would you recommend the Golf?
The FR?
Or stick with my LCR and man it out?

I get between 36 and 40mpg from my LCR and about 400-430 miles to a tank, A tanks about £70

Golf is about £60 and gets around 600miles to a tank (according to my mother)

What about the Leon? Bearing in mind 80 or the 85 miles I do per day are motorway miles so economy there is most important.

Leon FR Upgrade paths has anyone done anything special? One day I'd like to take it up to 250+Bhp and lots of torque and uprating the brakes is something I'd consider for track days....

I'm a bit lost if I'm honest and because I'm in work I've had to type this on the super sly so I can browse the forums too much.

Hope this makes sense!

I put this in the wrong section, Can the mods move it to general?
