View Full Version : Insurance recommendations
Can anyone recommed a decent insurance company that won't run a mile when you mention that your car has been modified?
I'm with Adrian Flux with all mods declared (head, cams etc)
I've never had to claim though, so can't tell you what they're like if you do.
Good luck,
Neil P.
Cheers. I did speak to a chap at Adrian Flux - he said that premiums were based on bhp - can you confirm this? He didn't specify whether it was bhp at the flywheel or wheels though...
When I had the engine mods done they asked what power it would be putting out. I said "it should be about 180bhp but I don't know until it's been done".
They put me on hold for a bit and then came back a price, and have never asked for proof of the power output.
I was already with Adrian Flux before I had the engine mods though, I just added them to the policy when I had them done.
Adrian Flux will send a Vehicle Modification Form out for you to fill out if you take out a policy with them.
Make sure that you're clear about everything that you mention, so that they don't have to ask questions, and give names and addresses of who did the mods (if relevant) and they'll probably never look further into it.
Oops, forgot to say, try Greenlight too as I've heard that they're good, and they do track day insurance.
Performance Direct were the best for me this year, they may not be the swiftest, but they didn't seem to mind the mods.
Any luck in finding a cordy yet steve? had my eyes peeled, but haven't seen any for sale locally.
I'm going to have a look at one this Friday. I'll let you know how it turns out.
