I've been thinking about getting my ibiza tdi chipped (mk 3 110). Had a look on here and the most popular seems to be the Jabba chip. I haven't found anyone mention superchip though, which my local tuner is doing them. Sounds good, with my limited knowledge (20bhp increase), but I'm wondering if the reason no-one's mentioned them is cos they're crap or it's more a matter of what the local tuners are doing?
Also, my car has the on board comp. on it which tells you the mpg and stuff, would the mpg readings be just as accurate with it chipped? Probably not a priority for chipped car owners but I find it handy to know the economy of the car.
Thanks

Super chips are bad mmmkay.
do a search. number of people have had bad experiences with them.
My cars been remapped by revo - www.revotechnik.com - and based on that, I'd recommend them.
Similarly those who've been mapped by jabba or AMD would recommend them.

Superchips are the Halfords of the Chipping world, I have only had a petrol car chiped by them and would not recommend them.
for the 110 TDI Upsolute get good results
 I have a 150 gti chipped by them I ahve 200bhp and 250 lb/ft and have to put it back on the dyno since I got the programme altered to give me 1.1bar boost  [B)]
Walk away and go to a better tuner.
Jabba/Revo/AMD etc..
Revo/jabba/upsolute is where you should be looking. As mentioed I'd stay away from supachips
As Mark states - Upsolute get far more than "+20" from their map, and it's cheaper than Superchops. :thumbd:
I'm sure they'll be up in Jockland again soon - contact their midland rep (see www.upsolute.com) and see.

My Leon 110 was slightly innaccurate before, and is very innacurate now. :)

Cheers for the info. Looks like I'll give a Superchip a bit of a swerve. I'll check out Jabba etc. and hopefully I'll be able to get it done near me. Just wondering, why do you rate Superchips so bad? Are they innacurate or faulty or just that it's a low gain?

Jabba are based in south of england not near you.
Revo have dealers nationwide.
Superchips maps are lumpy and not great.

i was on the jabbasport.com website and they had a local dealer listed?? I take it that it's a jabba chip and not a company called jabba that do the tuning?
correct CheezyDee. Its like car dealers who sell Seat cars.

Qualitee! It turns out that Starperformance who's on the jabba site is the same place that were doing the superchip near me. Although they've changed name/ownership to Falkland Perfromance I'm hoping they still do the Jabba. Might be a bit of a concern if they're pushing the Superchip if they do Jabba as well tho if a lot are recomending Jabba and giving Superchip bad feedback.

do tell why?? Might just be a case of new owners, new chip agents. I've no actually seen them myself but a mate at work was in to see about getting his golf tdi chipped and all they mentioned to him was the superchip. Maybe they don't do Jabba under the new name?

'cos they're listed on the Jabba site so I thought that it would be Jabba chip that they would be using

they didnt earn the name Pooperchips easily :p
I think the main problem it that their agents are are poor. And from what I am hearing they are giving a bad after sales service. I have my superchip fro the last 2 years and have had no problems at all. I recently went back (Mc Namara's in Dublin) to get my superchip programme altered for 1.1bar pressure, and they had no problems doing this for me, and at a cost of €70. I have yet to get the car dyno'ed since but I was putting out 200bhp and 250 lb/ft of torque from my 150 GTI.
