Zboyd thought it apt that we have an image for this memorable weekend.

Seen some amazing pictures when I was hunting for a suitable picture & it brought it all home.

Wish I was home this weekend to see the events from Portsmouth.

Just a small tribute of thanks and reminder to all of us what all those brave men and women from all the free nations who came together 60 years ago this week to ensure the British Isles remained free, and to liberate Europe.

Thanks :)

It was inspired by all those with England flags flying from their cars. People will readilly support their nation in a football tournament, but what about those who sacrificed their lives so that we could have the freedom to have such liberties.

If only I could find a Union Jack to actually fly from my car.. I'm not afraid of being different! Anyone got any idea where I could get one?

Nice touch guys.

My girls will be with their Guide unit on Sunday doing there bit, so to see the header here makes me proud to be a member

Spare a moment on Sunday to remember those lost one's. Be it 60yrs ago or in more recent confilts. The Service personell do us all proud - Governments may send them into battle under curious/interesting reasons BUT the troops (Army/Navy/Air Force) do the job & do it WELL - Here's to them all

A fitting tribute indeed, I work with the elderly and its sad to see just how few from "The Few" remain they are a rare breed in more ways than one im humbled on a weekly basis :worship:

 Mark.

Well said Stu.

Mark: Thanks.. I'd like to try and find one for this weekend tho - so that it can appropriately mirror all the St Georges cross ones.. If that fails I think I'll order from them next week. Any further ideas?

very nice fellas, i was pleasantly surprised when i logged in this morning.
I cant believe some days how there is race/religious rows/attacks when things events like d-day happened. I dunno, ive a lot more to worry about with my family/money and work.
