THOSE THREE RED LETTERS

I get home with the car saturday, and have spent the last week sleepless reading about tuning the car on www.seat-leon.de those guys get 183bhp and 410Nm with only slight increase in comsumption, I must confess to being alittle concerned about all that torque through standard trans, but many of them report trouble free 30,000km so far.

Dealer is very helpful and is changing headlights, and trying to smooth and paint, the seat rear boot badge/latch for me before pickup on friday.
KMP/MPH step down on monday
Tints/security film on thursday
waxing all the time in between.
I wonder if you can please give some advice I,m not so knowledgeable about the following;
What do you recommend for replacement filter/induction kit, what are the stainless steel mesh units like? ,
What is best 18" or 17"& wider with four wheel drive?
What light weight wheels do you recommend?
Does replacement exhausts make much difference to turbo diesels?
What kind of runningin pattern should you recommend?

Thanks guys

Daz, have you bought a LHD then??

Exhausts don't normally make so much difference on Diesels as they only take effect after 3500 - 4000rpm (when diesels are giving up), this was a comment in a VW magazine when they tested an ABT Golf TDi PD, although obviously you get a sporty note.

As for wheels, you can go to 19's on the Leon, although 18's are really the max without look stupid. Go for what ever style you want really......

So, was it new when you bought it?? if so, how come the Import company haven't sorted out the lights and Speedo before you took control? Both cars that friend bought abroad had every thing done when we picked them up from the Dealer in Holland.

Enjoy though...I'm quite jealous....:D

The car is Dutch spec and LHD, so got a good price, car has 24 km on the clock, in silver (which I'm told is rare on the 4WD Cupra).
what do you think replacement filter or induction kit?
I was a bit worried that the 4motion would sap the power, but having just driven home in my present car through 60miles of standing water on the motorway I,m quite happy. I'm trying to borrow digital camera for the trip to collect the car, and the dealer is very keen to get a good reputation for imports and will try to take preorders for the Cupra R, I will see how this car goes before recommending him, but so far he has been great and has the largest volume of sales of the cupra4's on the continent. well two more sleepless nights. BTW the german site www.seat-leon.de is very good, great pictures and lots of info, I use a web translator to view it, I'm not sure what thier on about most of the time but the word "randy" crops up in every forum reply, very strange

I'll let you know how it goes and have a look at seidl-tuning.de for a cool replacement font end
