Pete, Would they go in the fronts of my new beeza?

Yes you could fit them.

The new Ibiza has 17cm ( 6 1/2" ) front's but they are on a trim plate. You would need to make trim plates for any new speakers anyway so you could make some for 5 1/4" speakers no problem..

If you are putting in a sub you probably won't miss the mid/bass that you would loose by going for a slightly smaller speaker.

17cm same as the new one. They are a euro fitment that are widely available.

Again to fit 5 1/4 one you would need to make a trim plate out of some thin MDF or something but it's not hard..

Hi there sorry to interupt.

I have a Leon TDI, but I just thought I would offer some advice.

The Kenwood units are good for a budget unit. However, the infinity units are well worth the little extra investment as they make the kENWOOD's pale by comparison. Also the fitting kit that comes with the Infinity speakers is excellent and should allow you to fit them anywhere you like without making anything to help.

I had Kenwood components in my last vehicle, and I have just fitted Reference series and Kappa series into my new Leon and BOY!!!!! do they sound great.

I think Smithy you won't be disappointed with the extra expense.

Leon TDI 110 Imperial Blue - Velly Velly Load
Infinity 655cs Reference(Front)
Infinity 652-3i Kappa(Rear)
Infinity reference 4 way Amp (90watts RMS per channel!!!!!)
2 x 12" Kenwood Sub's in enclosure
600w Boschmann Amp (Purely for grunt for the sub's)
17" Fox 5 Premier Alloys with 225x45x17

I was looking at the Infinity's anyway since 1 of my best mates has 4 of them in his Golf, along with VIBE subs. Sound great, u can really tell the quality is there, and that the extra money does make a difference.

Thanks anyway :D

The only problem with infinitys is getting the right ones. They do a 6.5" and a 17cm.... Make sure it's the 17cm you get. If in doubt ask for the ones that fit a Golf Mk3, they are the same ones...

If you goto Infinity's website the have a set-up that can take you to the exact speakers that will go in your car.

Though I think the ones I have used are for the Golf as (it was a while ago now) I think the Seat Leon wasn't listed but as it is based on the Golf I went down that route.

Work out Grreeeaaaaattttttt!

Had the perfect 6.1 mounted in my old beeza. Waiting to get $$$ to get a 2nd pair + sub to fit the toledo. They are excellent speakers. Even though they where a good fit, I still used MDF to tighten up the bass and remove some of that annoying rattle. I think that using MDF and/or some sound proofing material is a must, otherwise you start losing sound in favor of rattle.
