View Full Version : Upsolute
Hello you friendly forum people! :D I think I have managed to convince the wife that our car 'needs' a chip upgrade  I have decided to go the Upsolute route and was just after some feedback from anyone who has had their car Upsoluted.....how does the car drive, any problems etc
Cheers
Sam
It's been superb (110 remap for me).
Simon Coe (Northern Rep) is a top blokey and once my car loosened up a bit more I started to experience flywheel oscillation. New file from Simon FOC no prob (approx 6 months after initial purchase).
Top banana. :)
PS - my wife thought I was a d1ck "wasting money on a map thing", then came back grinning ear to ear after her 1st drive on the motorway post-remap. She even admitted I was right!

I have exchanged a few e-mails with him, seems a good bloke. I am going to get the switch as well for visits to the dealer.
I think my wife will react the same way as yours when she drives it post re-map!!

Samm, I'm most impressed with my remap (Leon 110) and would reccomend it. The reason why i posted this up , as mik said... is they seem to be continually imporving the programs, i have had 3 for my car in the last 2 years and i have noticed the difference or should i say improvement between each of them !
Cheers

For me it was easy - got a 130 Bammer for the wife to drive, she then felt that her 115 was under powered.. Mmmmm what we gonna do she say's - Easy me thinks - Chip/tuning box (same sort of thing) - & hey presto.....
Yep you can use a box, but be aware that it will produce a bit more soot than a chip/remap.

Not keen on using a box. It strikes me as a bit of a 'bodgy' way to get more power from your car.
Well most of the tdi's extra power will come from extra fueling, which the tuning box does as well. Problem is ingection timing and boost which can't be controlled. I prefer the map/chip personally, but we should always cover all the possibilities.
did forget to mention that upsolute do make different maps for each motor, so you might want to ask the guys at upsolute about the different files. Be wary of something that mega strong (which they do make), because you'll need an oil cooler to keep temps down.
I'm not after anything that will make me travel back in time! :D I just want a nice boost in power. I have e-mailed Simon Coe and I would be more than happy with the standard increase he told me about.
Mik & Johnny M, what insurance companies are you with? I am currently with Elephant and they want an extra £200 a year for the mod!!! Elephant get on my tits, they charge for everything. I am scared of telling them that I cleaned the car as they will class it as a mod and charge me!!! Have you actually told your insurance companies? Do you have the on/off keyfob?
Cheers
