View Full Version : Tyres sizes for 17inch alloys
I want to put 215 45 17 on my 17 inch alloys, will they fit under wheeel arches etc, what size tyres do other seat tdi sport or similar have on their cars :)
205/40-17" is the correct size for 17"ers. More width reduces the profile figure, so a wider tyre with even higher profile numbers would probably cause you some trouble... The safest is to go 205/40 as that's what the factory offers, too.
I was going to reply to your email but i may as well do it on here.
Welcome to SCN by the way :)
205/40/17 is about right for the car...this is what SEAT recommend for their 17" wheels. Others have tried bigger tyres and don't recommended them.
Mine runs 205/40s all round. The fronts catch the bumper mount in the arch, whereas the backs are fine. This is on a big drop though.
as said 205/40's keep the rolling radius right.
