I know there are few peep's with Mk4 Ibiza's and Skoda Vrs's running Brembo's out there. What car did you order them to fit?? They dont do a kit for the Mk4 Ibiza, Was it the Audi A3, TT, Golf kit?

Yeah i had a look at that site the other day, Only prob is it dont tell you which car they are actually meant for. Im assuming its the TT, A3, Golf models that fit the Ibiza as well. But i can get em much cheaper than their price anyway.

I got my brembos from AMD.

Whilst they're all sorted and fooking excellent at stopping my car now, I had a few teething problems, relating not to them but their suppliers.
- they were using a kit made up of brembo callipers, brembo pads, and a third party drilled disk.
- these drilled disks, were warping with my car.

They sorted it out by fitting the standard brembo leon R disks to my car, and since then, they've been great.

However AMD are not the cheapest of people always :) - so you might want to look at http://www.badger5.co.uk - which is run by bill brockbank (ibizacupra on seatcupra.net), who also do brembo brake kits, amongst other things. :)

bear in mind if you do go with brembos, you'll need spacers on the front (get hubcentric ones), or changing wheels to ones which will clear the callipers.

All in all it works out quite expensive.
There's an alternative route which most people go for, which is getting Leon Cupra (petrol) disks and fitting them to the ibiza (312mm instead of 288mm), which apparently works well too.

In contrast, the brembo's are 328mm, with 4 pot callipers. (and look sexy as ****)

Yes they do. Been admiring them for a while. I want! [B)]

There's lots I want, and these are competing with new suspension for my attention! I'd probably get new wheels to go with them.

yeh.
I did suspension, strut brace ,, wheels first (note even with my wheels, I need spacers to clear brembos).

and then got revo'd.

and then did brakes.

best to ensure car stops, and handles well before increasing power :)

I'd read you saying that before, and decided that you sounded like you knew what you were talking about! I like these forums, people are generally helpful, and are free with advice- and generally are articulate with it.

I think the suspension will win out, at first, as it'll be easier to source (I'll probably go for the SeatSport one). I'll have the strut brace fitted at the same time.

Then have a look for somewhere in the northwest for wheels/brembo's. Can I assume that my local Seat garage doesn't do a Brembo upgrade?

I'd recommend driving to bills, especially if his ibiza is in situ -its an awesome beast.
Options available via Seat are:
- brakes from a mk4 ibiza cupra
- I've been told they're not brembos, but seatsport's own branded 4port calliper, and large disks
- they're red too.
- Leon R brakes
- these are brembos, with 328mm disks
- I think the callipers are bigger than what I have though, which would mean more need for clearance behind the wheels...

I don't really know what I'm talking about. Lots of people here knows tonnes, I just like modding my car (for like, read am addicted to), and so have found out bits and pieces about it.

i have the equivalent of Leon cupra 312mm brakes on my Fabia. the benifit of these over brembos are as follows:

1) price: you can prob get these sorted for under 200 notes, can get a set of calipers and carriers from ebay or a scrappers for circa £100. (Leon cupra, audi s3, audiTT or golf anni)
then you just use pads and discs of your choice, (ive gone for ds2500 and standard discs)

2) availability: these brakes are on a number of cars so reasonably easy to get hold of.

3) fitment.... they will fit behind the standard 16" wheels whilst the brembos need 17" and sometimes spacers too.

4) personally i think brembos are ott for a small car and a bit too bling for me ;)

5) 312mm look good behind standard wheels

312s need 5mm spacers on Ibiza 16s, llameckuf fitted some yesterday and had to buy my 5mm spacers from me so he could drive about.

Yes on my 312's 5mm spacers were needed. Wheel was fouling and was ever so slightly chipping away my alloys! Caught it early though! It may be due to the spokes design on ibiza alloys.

My brakes are still bedding in, but the stopping power is surprisingly good - and pedal feel is so much better, just check whats behind before you brake or they'll be screeching towards your back bumper! its like toXXin said on another thread - confidence is restored! :p

Brembo's....................Bling? :D Nah. :)
Stoptastic.

Boiled 312's into oblivion on MK4 (golf) but the Brembo's have been superb in every respect.

Wheel clearance and choice is their only realy issue (read pain @ times)
323x28 Brembo kit need 17" minimum wheel diameter and 50mm Caliper Clearance as per this piccy>> http://badger-5.com/bin/wheel-section-view.gif
Upgrade options of grooved disks and Carbon Metallic pads give yet further improvements in stopping ability.
