View Full Version : What Is The Problem With SEAT Dealerships?
It seems that at one time or another that we have all had a problem with a SEAT Dealership but it is hard to tie down exactly what the problems are, so I thought that I would do a poll so that "our friends" at SEAT had something to chew on!
Of course you may have never had a problem so thats good as well!

I voted Other as well as my local dealer - Great Covert, is not at all friendly to modifications.
And they seriously want us to keep on those horrible alloys and exhausts that rust after weeks etc etc?

I voted for no problems at all. Not one, when I picked the car up there were a few dirty marks inside, Neil noticed them before I did, apologised and booked the car in for a full valet inside and out.
I've had excellent, friendly and quick service. Also the prices I've been charged for servicing/speakers/amp/dump valve/strut brace/CD Changer were all damn good value.
I've always had a free courtesy car that hasn't even needed petrol topping up at the end.
.....oh of course, my dealer is Amethyst. :D
Cheers again guys

I voted other... Never had a problem with my dealer, apart from only ever having crap courtesy cars but they are only a small dealer..:p
No my problem is that my Dealer is no longer a Seat Franchise, Seat wanted them to pay '000's for a makeover and they couldn't afford it so Seat pulled the plug...
The Cordy still goes there for servicing etc but I can onlydo that because it's out of warantee...

What about a poll for what's right with SEAT? less catagories......
As I see it, the problem facing the customer is that of the dealers / franchises all being independently based. Thus The dealers can bounce complains of SEAT UK and vice-versa...so nothing gets sorted out and car problems and faults never get vision form the designers.
I'm having a SEAT animosity week.

Voted "Other".
The problem is that SEAT UK don't give their dealers the info, supplies, support and product range that the customers require.
Time and again I see discussions on here where different dealers say different things - because SEAT UK are crap at giving the dealers definitive info and answers!
SEAT UK need a rocket up their *rse far more than most dealerships.
Like you say some of the problems are because SEAT don't give dealers the support they need, especially with known problems/common faults. I think it's because they don't want to admit to them. On here we can see they aren't as isolated as SEAT would like us to believe.
I put other because they dont like Imports. I suppose fair to an extent.
pipsqueak, as you say, you can blame the dealers but at the end of the day, its Seat who need to get there act together, instruct the dealers accordingly and/or get new dealers.
Amethyst, Richard Huzzey, RPM have all had good reviews and helpufl on here so there not all bad,,,,just seems like most of them are
I put other. My dealer Sutton park have the attitude that any problems with my car are my problem and not theirs. They seem really perturbede that i should have the front to take problems with my car to them, there are other dealers in the South East is the attitude you get.

my dealer , agnews, has been pretty good about everything from replacing dubious warranty items to servicing, nearly every time im in i seak to a sales man that i knew before even going near seats and he sticks my car through their washer!!! what a guy!!!
the dealers who we bought our bammer from were allright until after we bought it and it went down hill from there now we take it to parkstones in leigh on sea as they are slightly better:rolleyes: also we have been offered a coutesy car once in all the work and serviceing that has been done to it at parkstones:mad:
Amethyst are top notch service bods!, its worth my 1.5 hour drive up there to get my car serviced even though i have a whole heap of dealers closer to me!, noone else has been as helpfull as them and i have tried quite a few dealers!!

ditto re Amethyst but my car is not perfect and things are squeeking/rattling temp sensors failing, brake pads falling apart (thanks for your road test RSD :(), Diamondbrite which is shite and a complete waste of time and money, 2 recalls for fuel pipe checking and then replacement, blown bulb (it happens I know). Just a bit over 8K miles now.
Parts supply is an issue. Soon to be sorted hopefully for eveyones sake (especially the parts guys)

ERRRRR ....... NO COMMENT
i'm biased see as if you didn't know
if it helps the parts situation is starting to gwt better BUT will still take time to get flushed out so to speak :D
my only gripe is the dealer to dealer discount  licence to screw each other i reckon , then they take AGES + AGES to pay
you can all come out now my two penneth has been thrown (be here all night if i could afford to throw em all away :) )

There are some good dealers out there but there are some appalling ones too and those ones need to get there act together and need to be known to SEAT UK as they must be loosing somany sales.
One off incidents arn't too bad ( everyone has bad days) but when you find out that your not the only one, too three, four............... people that have had problems there is something wrong.

Does anyone have any problems with getting anything done under warranty after having a mod done? I am thinking about the APR system with Cruiser, but my local dealers in Swindon and Reading have both said they will refuse to touch the car even with just the cruise control fitted, and its all VAG parts!!! Could I get round this by taking it to another dealer such as Amethyst?
I know its a long drive but from what you guys have been saying, could well be worth it!
Poor Customer Care coming top, wow that really amazes me :D :D
Is it cos SEAT UK make us all
