View Full Version : Anyone changed their pollen filter?
Yeah, as the title says, has anyone changed their Ibiza's pollen filter themselves? Is it easy to change? Where is it anyway and how can I change it?
Thanks for help! :)

Yeah i changed mine last week. Its easy to do and is like he said, just undo the screws and remove the cover under the glovebox and you will see the cartridge that holds the filter. Mine was full of crap and it all fell out!
Thanks. Then I can change it myself and save a little again. :)
The full annual inspection would cost around 300 - 350 € at the stealership but also because I'm really sick of their work quality (http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=36395), I'm having it serviced at a professional shop (http://www.easykm.fi/korjaamot/index.html) that said would do it for 85 - 95 €. Of course they won't check my brake lights and fill up the washer fluid but that's just what I don't want to pay for. I'm actually not sure if that 85 - 95 € includes such things as checking (or is it changing?) gearbox oil but either way, it's still going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than at the stealership.

don't think its the best pollen filter in the world - been past fields of rape seed and both my dad and I (who don't normally suffer bad hayfever) were sneezing for ages
Okay, now I'm just confused. If you look at this picture http://rmk.hamk.fi/~konttmi1/kamaa/filter.jpg you only see the glovebox there as the bottom most part! If I remove that, the only thing above that is the airbag. I've taken the glovebox area apart a couple of times already while installing the car phone.
Please give me more advice as I have no idea what I should rip off to find the filter! :(

On mine all i did was:-
1, Remove the 4 screw's holding the plastic tray underneath the glovebox. Then remove the tray completely.
2, Locate the pollen filter box, then slide the two clips together and remove the lid.
3, Pull the 'dirty' filter out and remove the plastic frame from the 'dirty' filter ready to be re-fitted to the new filter.
4, Assembly is the opposite of the above.
Its a fairly easy job to do. By the way my car has Climatronic fitted, so im not sure if Standard air con models have the same set up?
I don't seem to have the plastic tray. It was probably removed at the stealership when they installed the interior electric socket for the interior heater.
But anyway, the filter is such a big part that I just couldn't have missed the filter box there. I'm really confused as it just seems impossible that my filter would be there!
Anyone with non-climatronic air con, please help!
Edit: Nevermind, I found and changed it already. Would've been helpful to hear, though, that the filter is located vertically next to the center console...
