Is it possible to disable the interior movement sensors on the Mk4 Sport, so I can leave the windows open a bit during hot days ?
I haven't got my manual with me at the moment to check.
The car gets unbelievably hot inside after several hours baking in the company car park...

There's a button in the drivers footwell that disables the interior sensor when pressed. Just press the button when leaving the car !!!!

Yep as Ian says. Press the button (its on the same panel that the bonnet release is on) and lock the car.

Hope that doesn't mean your missing the alarm from the car.....that would definitely be out of order especially as its supposed to be standard on all cars.

The alarm works, i've tested it by leaving the windows open and waving my arms inside. I'm bit peaved about the lack of the button tho, I feel like i'm missing out! :crying:

Well I was going to leave the windows open today as all the weather forecasts said it would be really hot - so why are we under dark grey clouds then ???

Do you have deadlocks?

I assume so...

So can you use the deadlocks in combination with the immobiliers but not the alarm?

also have a look on the door pillar on the drivers side just behind the door and about a 20cm off the floor.

My 02 reg 1400 had the button, and my 03 reg TDI has it too...there's no reason why you shouldn't have one (unless it's an import?)

Who's the supplying dealer? Was it a Listers demo from new?

The car was registered to SEAT UK and according to the service book was PDI'd by SEAT Special Operations and the first service was carried out by them too but I bought the car from Listers in Coventry

So its definately a UK car...go back to the dealer if the button is not there!

If they say no can do, quote Sales of Goods Act and they'll sort it.

It's going for a service within the next couple of week so i'll point it out then, although I just looked in the book and the volumetric sensor is marked with an * as though it's an option???

It's marked with a * in the handbook of my brand new brand new one as well and i've got a button, took a bit of finding though I had no idea it was there till I read this! Mine in illuminated red.

I've just found a draw under the drivers seat too, its full of suprises (how sad!).

I can't imagine they forgot to put the button on or anything, there would be a hole in the panel. How strange.

Doubt that will work as there's always some get-out such as 'car spec may differ from blah blah blah', and anyway is the contract for sale of a car or sale of car with xyz bits on it.

You mean "SEAT Special Button Removal Operations" ???

Quite possibly! Who are they  and what exactly have they done to my car?
Why couldn't they have replaced the button with Revo, I could have lived with that as way of compensation
