Top news!
Just a pity they are so far away from me...

So what are the bhp/torque figures once you've been "upsoluted" on a 1.8T 180 variant
Had a quick shifty at their site and couldn't spot anything (site was very slow and got fed up), though the sound of the switchable modes sounds very cool http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

You guys! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/rolleyes.gif
See my post http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/Forum19/HTML/000058.html
Upsolute chip takes Leon Cupra to 212bhp and 217lbs.ft. For approx £250 fitted, inc VAT.
I posted a similar thread within this here Leon forum, but there was some "it's not excruciatingly expensive, so it must be bad" type responses....... http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/argue.gif

Do I assume Seat UK take a very dim view of warranty claims on chipped cars - ie with engines, drivetrain etc?
------------------
Toonman, that depends on what dealer you use. Its best to check it out with them first. Amethyst for instance are completely MOD freindly, some dealers however are not.

SEAT are no diferent to any other manufacturer..... If they find a remapped chip then I'm sure they'll invalidate (at least) your engine warranty. I've heard of BMW cancelling the entire warranty in similar circumstances (although it's unlikely this would stand up in court if you had a non-engine / non-drivetrain related warranty claim). http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/cry.gif
Upsolute are confident that they have "safe" products. The remaps are invisible to VAG1551 diagnostic equipment, so they'd need to drive your car, assess that it had a chip, and open up your ECU to see it. Upsolute comes with warranty, and their customer support is (apparently) excellent.
They are "close" to releasing a switchable remap, so you can swap between std and modified by pressing a button. Even without this, they give you a copy of your OEM map
on another chip, so if you are nervous you can return the car to OEM state every time you go back to the dealer......

Cupra: http://www.upsolute.com/database/sheets/446.html
(note: std torque figure is misquoted as 210nm. It is 235nm. Modified torque is also misquoted by 25nm ~ should read 295nm (217lbs.ft) as it does for A3 18.T)

I knew you come up with the goods Mik http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/cool.gif
Guess I didn't look hard enough, but the site was very slow for me.
Well these figures are impressive given the cost and I can't deny it is very very tempting, I'll have to get my one run in (when I get her of course) asap I can pop down and see 'em and get upsoluted.
If anyone else does it before me, can they let us know how it all goes, service by the UK team, drivability etc.

Excelent, would take my Leon TDi to 214lb/ft torque, hope the gear box would be ok, the 5-speed is rated to 210lb/ft. Good excuse to fit the Golf TDi 6-speed, also gives better fuel consuption due to engine spinning at 2000rpm @ 70mph........

hi guys, do i need to go all the way to kent to fit it or can they send chip in post and fit yourself or get local tuning company to fit it?.
all so have they got bhp and torque curve stats?, do you still get flat torque curve?
any help with this would be great

I started following these guys about a year ago and was gonna go to GTI International and get my Leon chipped but something came up...
Sounds like good value but I know they've had probs with surging. They've been well active in the States for a while now and got good reviews on the vortex (www.vortex.com)
I'd check out the discussion board at www.upsolute.com (http://www.upsolute.com) cos there's some good info on there.
They remove your chip from the ECU board, reflash it, and solder it back in, so I hope this guy is good with a soldering iron http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif
I've heard of 150hp Golf 1.8Ts chipping to 190-200bhp with the Upsolute chip http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/beer.gif
The guys in Austria had a project on the go with a TT 180hp, whereby they were gonna fit a K04, chip and a few other bits for circa 250bhp - I was interested in that one http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif
As I say not really up to date with what's happened in last couple of months so get investigating! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif
Thanks for info

Suggest we get the UK guys to confirm chiop method:-
I have heard of the "reflash & resolder" method being used in the states. Not sure if that is still viable on latest ECUs.
The procedure as detailed to me is:-
1. Remove OEM chip (SMT).
2. Copy OEM map onto another chip (non-SMT).
3. Solder SMT socket onto PCB in place of chip.
4. Plug remapped (non SMT) chip into socket.
5. Drive Car
6. Try to stop grinning like an idiot.
7. Stick chip with OEM map in your pocket ~ can return car back to std tune as you feel necessary.
8. Ooops. Sorry. Almost forgot to pay you. There you go Sir!
As far as I know, the UK guy should still be able to upgrade your ECU via post / courier. (This has been the only option 'til now ~ sending ECU to Europe).
Kent is a bit far for me to travel too....but I'm watching this space.....'cos I know something......

I don't think that Impossible Performance will be the ONLY UK Distributor. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/beer.gif
