I wired mine off the stereo, popped the clock out to run the wire across the dash & poked it out of the air vent.

you just need to find a power connection & route the cable somewhere.

ok here goes, lcr right?

open the drivers door and look at the dash, ul see a semicircle shape this is the fuse cover, remove this and you wiil see the fuse panel and some torx screws. these screws release the lower steering wheel dash area, there are some more screws round the driver foot well part of the dash, this cover then comes off in your hand ooh er :D

now look near the accelerater pedal area and you will see some thick wires connected with 10mm bolt these are the ignition feed dont use the black ones, as they are not earth il find out which is the swithched live then put it on here for you, then all you do is earth to the chassis.

right just lokked the terminals are:

red 30 = 12+constant
yellow75x = 12+switched
always fuse these tho with the appropriate fuse

the power block under the steering wheel if you remove the trim has +12 permanent +12 ignition and ground, I've wired my snooper to there and my IPAQ each with own fuse best place to do it that way when removed no damage left

OK, let me get this straight as I've been meaning to do this for a while with my B2.

I connect a wire (what type of wire??) from the yellow75x = 12+switched terminal to a fuse (what rating, what type of fuse - sorry very basic question but is it something I can get in Halfords?) then connect the power lead (having cut it to remove the cigarette lighter adapter) from the B2 to the other end of the fuse??
What do I use to connect? Solder? Or bullet connectors or something else?

Sorry, very basic questions I know but if I'm going to wire up £350 of equipment I don't want it going bang as soon as I turn on the ignition.

If someone can help me out here I'll try and do a step by step guide with photos.

Or can someone post photos of their connections to the power block and fuse?

There's a guide on www.icecavern.com about this...

Edit:

Click How-To on left hand side, then select "How to remove the trim panel on the lower part of a SEAT Leon Dash"

It doesn't tell you about what wire of fuse to use (because that obviously depends on what you're wiring in), but it does have pictures of the Power Distribution Block.

Oh, and my top tip is to turn the clips that hold the fuse box lid on through 90 degrees to make it easier to get it on and off.

removing the trim and getting to the block is what I can - its the electrical bit that stumps me

have found this link:

http://www.uk-mkivs.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=27270&SearchTerms=,hardwire,origin

which seems to give the most comprehensive guide so far

Well I did a bit of both - Halfords sell a 4 way "Splitter" cigarette adaptor for about £6-7 which gives you four sockets out of one. Chopped the plug off, wired the wire from the centre pin through an inline fuse holder (92p each!) to the permanent live, and the other wire to the ground. Need some of them round crimp thingies aswell.

Then cradle for iPaq plugs straight into splitter, and if I get anything else (one of those nice travel kettles would be nice and sensible) I can plug it straight in.

Well, crap or not, I've managed to hide all my wires.

Edit: unless you mean the travel kettle was a crap idea, in which case, I was only joking

I take it that its a good idea to disconnect the battery to do this?? I am going to hardwire my road angel..

If I do remove the battery, what will this affect? alarm/immobiliser?

Cheers

personally I did not bother as all you do on the power block is undo the terminal bolt slightly and slide in the spade connector. But if you want to be safe yes disconenct the batteyr all that will happen you will loose pre-sets on your radio
