Hi,
I have just bought an Ibiza FR TDI 130 and I am looking into having it remapped. Has anyone done this to a 130? if so what were the results i.e power, acceleratio etc and have you had any problems after having it done? Also have you managed to keep your warrenty with Seat or has it invalidated it. I have been looking at revotechnik is this the best company to use?
AMD do a re-map which you can download onto your cars ecu via the obd port which gives good results and when you want to go back to standard you can download the origanl map back the same way. I think its about £550 plus vat and you get the before and after power figures cos they will do it on a rolling road. I have a similar one and am very happy with the results I dont think gives the same power as revo but I am not sure.
Dude, do a search and have a read of some of the old posts in the TDI section, many people have had their 130 beezer remapped on here. many by revo with very good results indeed.
Loads of Revo'd 130 owners and Ex Revo'd 130 owners who will all give the thumbs up. well worth a search regarding Revo and 130.

I just read on a post that there is a factory chip that is covered under warrenty is this true?
only if you're importing the car. Its not offered in this country.
I would think that if you had a ABT chip put in, they would have honor the warranty.

I'm not sure about that Paulo - I mean look at Revo and SEAT Greece.
True Ed, but ABT is directly linked or as directly linked as possible to VW headquarters. Sort of the AMG of the VAG group.. :D
I think that SEAT UK warrantee wouldn't...
I suppose if you order it direct from factory then warranty covers you regardless but post-factory fit might be a different ball game.
do what everyone else is doing. Get Revo'd and lie about it.
You know you want to
It'll make you look older.
and other peer pressure statments

:roflmao: Yes, I must admit I love my Revo remap..
As for ABT, I guess it depends on the countries importer policies. I know it doesn't void the warranty here, but I also know that it must be done by them or come from the factory.
There's no such thing as Abt UK anyway, so that plan's thwarted.

Get Revo, you know you want to.
Toxxins Ibiza 130 is running an AmD remap btw as is mine plus a few extra's ;)
It would seem from most of our rolling road events that most of the 130 PD diesels all seem to do about them same give or take when remapped by any of the main tuning companies and all have satisfied customers.

Agreed.
I think everyone who has a map, will recommend the tuner who did their car.
i.e those with revo recommend revo, those with AMD recommend AMD, and those with jabba, recommend jabba.
This is a good thing. It means they're all doing their jobs.

Unless you get a bad map or subsequently try another map which seems better ...

Of course, only the ones recommending Revo are right. ;) :p
I recommend noone, its the owner's choice at the end of the day.
There's nowt wrong with any of them TBH, I just think the Revo maps are smoother than mine and produce more BHP. Torque seems to be the same though.
This is based on seeing Rage's and cpufreaks dyno plots and comparing them to my own.

I think I will probably go for the revo remap but I think I will put a couple of k on the engine before I do it. Not sure what I should do about insurance and warrenty tho.

I would declare to insurance.
Reason being: IF they discover you have it remapped, and not declared, your insurance could be void, making your driving on public roads illegal, and you could get in big trouble for that.
As for warranty, as no parts are changed during revo remapping, and the remap is well within the operating levels of all equipment in the engine, its not something I would be concerned with. Just buy an SPS1 and switch back to standard before servicing, so as not to worry your dealer. :)

True but your isnt the full latest remap, you have to pay for them.
Ross, :p
It seems that people with One Click on their 130s are producing the same amount anyway...haven't looked at their plots though.

'Twas I who got the ABT chip when I imported; but I wouldn't choose ABT again though.
Granted it was only sold as a "155" upgrade, and I get around 170 from it and yes it's allegedly covered by warranty, but for the same money (probably less) I could have got it Revo'd in UK to over 180bhp.
Having said that it's still bloomin quick and makes me grin every day :)

Revo does sound like the best option. Has anyone done a timed 0-60 on a revo'd tdi 130?
not worth even trying in the diesel. There is far too much power to reliably get grip in the lower gears and so 0-60 times are totally irrelevant. 30-70 or 30-100 are far more important/relevant to the performance of the car and its very quick.
