Hi

Anyone in here gone from an Impreza Turbo to a Leon Cupra? I'm thinking of it and wondered how they've found the experience so far?

Thanks

Hey,

I have a friend who got a Impreza UK300 about the same time as I got my Leon. He has had it Pro-Drive'd to 245bhp, I have had mine RSD'd to 210bhp.

The Leon will never catch the Impreza...it's 0-60 is still around a second slower. More to the point the Scooby's a 4WD system and has better chassis and suspension.

However, The Leon is much more comfy, has a nicer quality interior and has 'hundreds' of gadgets more. It is also quieter and gets something like 15mpg better economy.

Don't get me wrong - both cars are fast and great fun to drive. However, the Scooby is an all out fast car wilst the Leon is more of an autobahn cruiser.

I still cannot deciede which I prefer...the Leon feels nicer to sit in but the Subaru nicer to drive. If it wasn't for the 10k price difference and much higer insurance and running costs I might have gone for the Sub!

Ive had a STI V, P1 and now a UK300PPP. I also have a Leon Cupra.

I'd agree with Rich on most things. Fuel wise the Leon is about 6-8 mpg better, but if driven hard the gap streches out a bit more.

If we are going on a long journey, then the leather seats (good to wipe the sick off if the kids throw up), good hifi (in comparision) and more relaxed drive win the day. The gap has closed a lot with the major improvements in refinement in the new shape though.

In the dry they are in their own ways both great fun. In the wet though as last weekend showed the Leon is a very limited. My ESP light was going beserk, and it didnt inspire much confidence. Yet in the wet the scooby as you know is better fun. I also find too much chassis flex in the Leon compared to the UK300.

You can also park a Leon and attract zero attention which is a real bonus, and its still one of the best Q cars out. Audi drivers hate them.

Just need Seat UK to import the 4wd versions. Even Skoda has the Octavia available with 4wd and a turbo http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/mad.gif
The ultimate Q car would be a 4wd Cupra V6 with Supercharger.

Cheers

I owned a Subaru Impreza GT Turbo and I switched to a Seat Leon Cupra V6 iperiumblue. I understood that the car isn't sold in the UK and that is a shame. I liked the Sub, but I like the V6 a lot more. The looks of the car, the sound of the V6 engine, the interior etc. The handling isn't bad either. TEh handling could better, but maybe intrax and billstein make me more happy.

This week I drove in the 1.8vt turbo Leon chipped to 210bhp. I must say I liked it.

It is you decission mate, but I can say to you go for it

Thanks for the opinions guys. Having found a dealer with one in stock, I collect the car on Friday.
