Hi all,

Forgive me for being a dingbat on this one, but the only thing making me reluctant on modifying my Ibiza 20VT (e.g. remap) is voiding the warranty. There seem to be a fair load of you out there with modded 20VTs, do you guys (and gals!) get round the problem at all or just sack the warranty altogether?

Any comments appreciated cos that APR site is getting ever more appealing....... cheers!!

I think that there is a thread on here where Ben (Roly) posted about the warranty and the wording is that the dealership can only invalidate or not honour something under warranty if they can prove that the damage etc etc is related to the modified part or parts..... Think thats about right!

I have had mine for bout 11 weeks now and I have already modified it and I aint waiting around for three years to start to do stuff to it!

Each to thier own mate its up to you, loads of peeps have chips on here now and are still taking thier cars to dealerships!

Thanks Si,

I saw Ben's post, but thought I'd ask the question of you guys outright lol

So I guess as long as I don't turn up with a road sweeping F2 rally car and some subtle mods instead, things might be okay.

Whilst I'm pestering you, any experience with the APR remap and the switchable functions. Are they any good/easy to use etc.... I'm off to call them up soon but would still be interested in hearing your views. Thanks again!

my company has the maintenance contract for servers and workstations for major vauxhall dealers over here and ive seen some pretty woeful corsas, ott modding, and they still come in for warranty work, also my car, i get mine serviced and insured through seat and they dont eraly seem to care about the mods, obviously if my sportstek exhaust developes a fault , its not their place to replace/repair it but they do not shy away from responsibility! ............................which was nice!! :)
