View Full Version : Colour Coding Bottom of Spoiler
Has anyone colour coded the bottom of the front spoiler on a Leon Cupra? If so, what was the cost and have you had any probs since it was done?
Thanks

And I thought I was the only one who was a bit fussed with everything colour coded.
Anyway back to the point I am having mine imported and the company is colour coding it for me, the bottom of bumpers and the rubber side mouldings as well.
Can't wait. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/tongue.gif

Yeah - if anyone has done the front OR back and has a pic please post it. I have thought about it but worry that it'll make the car look too much like a jelly-mould!
Cheers - Rich

"L3ON CR" Silver and fully loaded.
RSD'd to ~210bhp :-)

Post a pic of your car and I'll colour it in PhotoShop. Make sure the front is well lit as it'll make life easier for me when I do it.

SG Petch in Durham's colour coding the front spoiler and rear valance for £100 on my new Cupra. If anyone's interested, I'll post pics. Looking at the response, I'm not sure many of you are. Oh well... :)
We colour coded our first LEON cupra demo.
Have pics to e-mail if you want to see.
rear no prob - front needs good prep to stop stone chips.
Toonman,
When I was thinking of getting the Cupra in Imperial Blue, I was gonna get the bumpers colour coded. But then I saw it in Black, and decided that black was the colour I really wanted.....
Didn't seem much point in colour coding the black bumpers on a black motor. ;) :D
It's only a shame (IMHO) that the standard body kit doesn't take care of the back bumper along with the side skirts and front bumper, 'cos I think the back is the ugliest part of the car!!!!!
Phatt!
Yes, I agree - seems a bit cheap to me - guess that's one area Seat save money though.
Here's a pic of my colour coded Bronze Leon, should anyone be interested. I think it makes a big improvement.

reason for that is because the front/side kit for the leon is all the old TOLEDO kits they have left unsold and they cant use the rear one , TBH get the black rear part (designed that way coz it gets road filth on) painted ?? it lines up sweet with the rest then
Flapper,
Yeah - one of the few truths the dealer told me was that they're the old Toledo parts. I'm still toying with the idea of getting the back colour coded, too. But I reckon I'll see what the car looks like without, first.
Not wanting to start a riot, but I think the Leon is a trifle on the ugly side by default - hence the kit just to reduce the pain a little for my eyes. :-)
I don't think it's really hideous, or anything, but there's something about it without a kit on that doesn't sit right with me. But I only had to take it on a test drive to realise that it didn't matter to me: I'd get the kit on it and the car would do the rest.
Frankly, I'd rather be paying the original £17,000 odd and getting the original car, rather than Leon Lite (which is what the MY2002 amounts to). :-)
Having said all that, I know that when I finally get the Black Beast sitting on my driveway it's going to be The Most Beautiful Thing On Earth (TM). ;-)
Phatt!
SUppose its all about your own point of view. :)
Some seem to hate the backend, where as personally i think its the cars most endearing feature, the light s and the large flat area punctuated with the great silver S is very attractive, but some think not.
The front was the cars biggest dissapointment for me, the one thing i use to describe this is SLATS.
They do nothing for it and make it look boring and non inspired, ive always liked the Ibiza VT's front with its grey coloured honeycombe style grilles.
So hence i've now changed mine to the V6 front end, this has made the car much more aggressive and in my opinion this is how SEAT should of done the car in the first place, especially the Cupra models.
But looking at some other modern cars nowadays as they make transition from car to people carrier style van i think the LEon stilll has a lot to offer in terms of style over its competitors, though a nip and tuck here and there wouldn't go a miss. :D
while were talking about the styling of the car, have a look at an Alfasud 5dr front or rear (although rear is more apparent)
now look at the Leon, spot any similarities, just a few!

Overall shape (forget the detail) looks like a big 5 door Rover 200 (Post 1996) to me.
Thank god it's built / goes a damn sight better.
Steve
could only find an early door, but look at the shape on the tailgate where its sort of cut off, the thickness of the c-pillar and the overall silhouette
