Hi all, just got my new Ibiza FR 1.8 T last week. i traded it for a Jabba'd 130 Sport. Ok as stock it doesn't feel as quick but over the same roads in a straight line its only 5mph or so slower - and thats before it gets 220 - 230bhp from a return trip to Jabba! Can you go faster for 14k all in?

I don't want to cause big arguments between Sport and FR owners but the handling is a revelation, no crashing, little roll and a ride I can get on with - can this really be due to 80kg less over the front end?

I hope its not and they have sorted the crap ride and handling of the FR TDi as that motor deserves a decent chassis too.

OK the interior is dodgy compared to the 'Audi' like sport but its the motor the sport should of been from day one. Top car - keep your Cupras, too expensive and too in your face, FR's are the best reasonably priced hatchs in Seats line up.

you could go faster for less than that with the previous Ibiza ;) but that's not in production any more :)

Mk3 Ibiza Cupra. ;)

Also, are you sure about 220-230bhp from Jabba? I would of expected 195-210bhp max?

If you do goto Jabba then let us know how you get on.

Glad you are having fun.

Yes. About 30mph faster and 2.5 secs quicker to 60 for under £10k, and that's without even thinking about it

Ah clever eh, I meant new and in a reasonable insurance group - but a fair point none the less.

I believe Bills Golf (ex-Jabba) was for sale for around £12,500

400bhp, 170mph (GPS verified) 0-60 in around 5 secs and beat the fastest MKiV Golf in Europe in a magazine shoot out.

Depends what you class as new, although fair point on the insurance but £1,500 should cover it for £14k all in!.

Not fastest 1.8T MKIV in europe...... that was another guys claim :) Mine was the one faster than his :p :D

There is always someone faster... guaranteed.

Off to its new home this weekend. complete with its large FMIC.
400bhp motor easy peasy.... oh the wheelspin I can hear it now.

ickle Ibiza is getting 5th gear (of 6) wheelspin in the damp....
Makes for a weird sensation.... steer left or right whilst spinning @ 115mph in 5th and it continues to drive dead ahead! - Test ride for some friends in Scotland over the weekend sprinting. Made me smile. Its gone a bit mad has this car... :hide:
