Ok, its about time i changed my front pads as they are getting a bit thin. Ive already got Pagid Grooved discs with Pagid pads but was wondering what pads people could suggest. Heard a lot about green stuff? any good? also how much should i expect to pay and where should i get em from?

I've just put Red Dot disks and pads on my 8v. I'll see how well they do at the track day!

EBC's lasted 2000miles on my 20VT ibiza.
They worked but they are not durable.
Pagids have worked for me for many years.. Fast Road series pads, so I personally have no problem and have tried many different brands and settled on Pagid FR series.
EBC's are low(er) dust, that is the only benefit I see, but I buy brakes to stop me and not to keep the wheels clean personally. I wash my car regularly so it is'nt an issue (and have black wheels also :p)
Why are you thinking of changing? Unhappy?

No i think the brakes are great, just wondered about the ebc's as i had heard a lot about them. Plus the less dust appealed as my car seems to get dirty very quickly with the miles i do. will just stick with the Pagids then. Any idea how much i should be paying for these? got them all as a package before ( disc & Pads).
Cheers

Not sure of the disc size ( not too good at this mech stuff :( ) but its for a 97 8v Ibiza Cupra. Noises are getting a bit worse so best get on the phone today. I can get em fitted at the weekend then. :D

Marc - standard front discs on an 8v should be 256mm, although caliper spacers/hangers can be had which would make 280mm (as used on 16v's) discs fit. Either way, your calipers should be the same so same pads...?
I have GreenStuff with EBC Turbo Groove discs (256mm) - the pads ain't bad - I thought the set-up was a bit spongy but brake feel improved loads when the brake fluid was changed - fair enough I suppose, I probably had boiled the last lot at least once what with Alconbury (twice), Curbrough, etc... Low dust claims seem a little exagerated and I also am not overly impressed with the pad wear rates. I think Brunty should finish them off nicely, then Pagid FR here I come...

At least people make pads for your car :(
I can only have stock
oh well - guess i'll have to buy some hubs & bigger discs now.

Amazing the mods you can justify when you really try, eh? :D Seriously, are the calipers that much different? Are caliper spacers not available?
G
they have the pad holders as part of the hub cast
bummer

Well got a set of the pagid pads on order from RPM so should have them soon. Just need to find time to fit them then! :(
Mark P - are you keeping the white wonder a bit longer now then?
