View Full Version : Some horrible person's tried to break into my car
Annoying a hell, some :censored: tried to break into my car last night.... Used what was probably a screwdriver to try and lever the plastic bit out that sits between the passenger side door and the fixed window on that side.... then looks like they tried to lever out that fixed window,perhaps thinking it opens, don't know.....
Result is the plastic bit's not on right, not falling off- although the FR symbol's fallen off, and a dent and some scratched paintwork.
Not happy. Suppose I'll have to ring the stealership and find out how much it'll cost to fix, while it's in I think I'll get the SEATSport suspension put in and the strut brace....
One question, how hard are they to actually steal? Is it worth getting a better alarm/immobiliser?
what casanova forget to mention is that immobilsiers are only thatcham2 full alarms AND imobilisers are cat1. ;)

That's very interesting, but I'm actually a guy! :redface: Been using the name Lorelei (saw it in a Heinlein novel which had a character Lorelei Lee, my name's lee- so........ I know great leap of logic there), didn't know it's also used as female name? The banner is from a pc game called System Shock 2, it's a mad AI called Shodan. OK so I'm a bit of a Sci-fi computer geek! (Didn't really need to own up to that now did I?)
I've been on the forums a while, mostly lurking. The odd post here and there, just absorbing peoples knowledge as I know jack about cars!

It's an FR TDI, so supposedly has a cat1 alarm and immobiliser. At least according to the equipment spec when I bought it. Don't really know what a cat1 classification actually means though. I'll look it up this weekend, give me something to do!

Honestly didn't know that Lorelei's been used as a female name! A search on the internet years ago turned up, it's origin from german, and that was all...

I'd just like to say your taste in computer games is well sound! System Shock 2 absolutely rocks :clap: Nice banner - SILENCE THE DISCORD!!!! (that still freaks me out, middle of the night, dark romm etc etc.... :hide: ) Just wish I'd had the chance of playing System Shock 1 as it won't run on a modern PC....
