I can't remember if the topic was on here or Smartgroups. I've searched but can't find it.

We were talking about modding cars and somebody mentioned that Admiral were ok for mods. I emailed to ask if they'd cover me for the 210 conversion on my Ibiza 20vt that Amethyst are offering. I've just had a phone call from one of their staff who said they don't touch modifications. He was very apologetic about it.

Maybe they've changed their policy?
Cheers
Andy

I posted the message regarding Admiral and modifications. My R5 GT Turbo was modified (albeit not to 210 bhp!) and they didn't have any problems with the mods that I did have. It could be that they have changed their policy on modifications.

Sounds that way. Someone has just posted on Smartgroups saying that they were insured on a turbo converted MG with Admiral and the following year was told they weren't interested in him renewing. They must change their policy depending on if they want the business or not.

The guy I spoke to said they wouldn't even cover the strut brace which in my opinion will only improve the safety of the car surely? They do seem to be quite strict at the mo.

Cheers
