Howdy,
I have just seen a spanking 16valver with a twin headlight conversion, and i was wondering how much this would set me back, and are there any known issues with it?

You mean the 2x2 round headlights or the stock cupra H1+H1?
All you should know about headlamps is that there was a change at the very end of 96 (same mountings, but different sized headlights & indicators) and these mods are usually for the later (97-99) models.
If you want the 2x2 round headlights then it will be a bit expensive (depending on model you may have to replace the front grille as it comes complete), but you can fit the stock cupra H1+H1 headlamp into your wehicle with no problems (at moderated price), just be sure to pick the right item (pre 96 - a bit smaller, after 97 - bigger design). It's available for both (old & new cars) and dealers like to mix them up easily.

This is a genuine SEAT accessory

morette twin head light conversion comes with grille @300 od quid ,haggle it's been out for a while now an there bound to be working on the 2000 models .

Genuine seat accessory? I'm afraid it isn't. It is true that there was a twin headlight conversion available in 98 at the SEAT dealers (sold with cordoba varios, but mainly used on ibizas). Can't remember the make -- it was three letters like "NKV" or "GKV" or anything like that, but it is NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE. I know it, because i also wanted to go for it and went to order them but i got bad news. A friend of mine has these on his kiwi cupra, but one of his lights has been broken and he cannot find a replacement glass bulb to this headlight.
Maybe you can find these at a dealer as "dead stock" but i don't really believe that, better chances as second hand, but then there is no parts supply for these at all!!!

That sucks, cos they look really nice, oh well. On a slightly different note, what do you all think of the large rear spoiler that was/is(?) available for the old cupras?

Well, it's interesting because the official dealers here say that it is not available anymore. I'm talking about that "three letters" 2x2 headlight (not the one with the whole grille). Do you have a proper name or ordering nr.?
I'm sure anyway that there are different designs which are even available, but the one i would fancy is quite rare here. :-(

See? It's not that easy to find one http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif. I have been advised that the company does not manufacture it anymore. It's not that important anyway, i got some eyebrows for the stock H1+H1 and i'm happy with that now.
