Had the car on a RR today after a long lay off getting a new head and gearbox fitted.
Initially i was expecting a fair loss as the kr head/cam setup isnt designed for a catted car.
erm.. wrong!
before 156.8 after 153.7 (no big deal, still up on standard)
torque before 132 @ 5995rpm, after 136 @ 4556rpm
at 3000 revs theres more than 10 lb/f more torque available, by 5k they are almost inseperable but then the after setup begins to eak out a little more again.
the only thing thats puzzling me is the losses in transmission, at 5000 rpm theres 10 bhp difference in losses.
Since getting the car back on the road it hasnt felt as revvy but still felt as strong as ever. operator told me that shes detonating quite a lot in mid range which may explain the slight loss in bhp.
the results back that theory up i reckon, ill get the graph scanned soon as its got both before and after results on the same chart. Next up remap and flow job.
anyone else gone down this route?

the kr being non cat spec id have thought port the lot as there isnt as much restriction....
then thats why i fix computers for a living!!
daz the bloke told me that my induction kit was probably costing me power because of where its situated, he mentioned charged induction and that pipe workfrom plenum to bottom of car with filter located at the very end, any ideas other than spt of how i could get 4 inch (approx) pipe mandrell bent to resolve that little stinker?
