Another bit of advice: if you get the chrome vent surrounds, get the dealer or someone that has done it before to do it for you - it is a fecking tw@tting mo fo of a job. The gear surround etc are all easy though.

If you get the grill surrounds, only fit the centre one. IMO the 2 side ones look odd. You can also get chrome door lock pins from your dealer too, they cost about £10, i got a nice leather/alloy gearknob for about £15 from my local accessory shop and some Momo pedals from halfords for £20 (ex display and my mate works there!). Finally, get the SEAT Sport strut brace too - £50 from the stealer, looks nice and makes quite a difference to the handling. A set of genuine mudflaps also make a surprising difference too IMO - makes the car look a little less stodgy

C'mon, it's not! :) I did it myself and with a bit of advice from Tom (toXXin) it was an easy job. Separating the side rings from the vents are the most difficult job and requires quite some patience.

I was thinking of getting some mudflaps because my sills and the back of the car are filthy with all the dust and spray being kicked up. Would they make any difference to it?

Don't Ibizas there in UK come with front flaps? I had front flaps stock on my Cordoba.

IainW, I have a full set of mudflaps you can have for £20+post :)

I found the grilles tricky on the first go but on the second and third goes I seem to have worked it out now. I do agree, get your dealer to do it, as they are flimsy break very easily.

clipse_t, the only place to get the bits is from the dealer. You can get the part numbers from the Accessories section of www.seat.co.uk and give them to the parts guy...if he has a clue, you should be in business.

As for Peco exhausts...

Don't make a massive difference but TBH the sh1te that gets thrown up the back is generally not directly from the tyres, its from the airflow of the car - happens with most hatchbacks such as the Ibiza.

Son - TBH mate i found the side ones easy! :bleh: It was the 2 centre ones that i had the probs with - got the original black rings off but couldnt get the actual vent itself out of the dash - if there is a guide knocking about i wouldnt mind a copy as i fancy spraying the original ones in matt alloy finish as you have done i believe - probably also try the gear surround too

Not really a guide but pics of how I painted mine are behind the link I posted earlier to this thread. ;) The secret to getting the vents out of the dash is to remove the whole face plate thingy of the central dash first (as in my pics). This begins by taking your radio out first, and you'll find lotsa screws holding it. Also clips are used. Then, as you now have access to the vents from behind, you can simply push the vents out, again, as in my pics.

so wot aout me exhaust then? ? im really feelin a duplex system with 1 pipe each side altho, unlike cars like the fiesta zetec's, ibiza dont have pre-cut tailpipe holes an me an my mates reckon i'l have to get rid of my bottom fog lights (think they're rear fogs anyway. 2 little red reflector thingy's). any suggestions.

also im desperate to change my brake pads as standard 1's are pure shite. and without ABS, they cant stop me for shit. does any1 know of a good brand e.g green pads that can sort my 'biza?

all replies welcome

The fact they're shit might have something to do with it.

If I wanted an exhaust (and I don't as I'm happy with my standard hidden one), I'd get a Milltek, Sebring, Supersprint or a Powerflow custom one.

Aftermarket accessories? www.seat.co.uk has the biggest range, noone cares about the MK4 Ibiza yet.

Yes, they're reflectors. :D And I suggest you didn't get rid of them. I bet you're gonna need them in the first inspection at latest...

The exhaust is nice, but I'm happy with the one I've got.

I've decided against the kit now I've seen it in silver...it looks very good in Platinum though.

Tacky, I reckon. Makes the car look real tall... In my opinion anyway.

Actually, I think the Cupra exhaust has two outlets in that one oval tip.
