bought one the other day as a temp replacement for my shagged pipercross, looks like a really nice filter although its very shiney i dont think its made from anything substantial.
Fitted it tonight and went for a wee drive on the ring road, it actually sounds better than the pipercross and when i got back it wasnt as hot as the pipercross neither. Because the pipercross was buggered (ead: needed a really good clean and the underside was all shredded from a screw coming up from metal below) this little kit seemed to makee the car pull a little better too, im always sceptical about ind kits so until i get some ducting from the bottom up to directly onto the kit i'll hold my final judgement.

little shop in belfast , 34.99 sounds really sharp and almost vtec'y. If anyone wants one i can arrange something. :) plus a smal fee for postage and greediness!! :D
note this think thing seems to work better than the pipercross as it has a kind of heatsheld as you can see on the pics which makes plumbing cold air to it a lot easier seeing as its directed. only to the top of the kit. it requires a smal length of spt or as i have used a stainless pipe which im cutting two 1 inch holes (one for vacuum and one for air sensor). Did i say it sounds way better than the others ive used?

the best you can get from Taiwan.
Single layer cotton gauze type materials...
I had the same filter (with the carbon shield) on mine for a while - roars like a loony! :)
felt it needed ducting, but couldn't get any to fit the standard cupra bumper properly :thumbd:
bet your engine bay looks 'bling' ow mr B! :)

brendy , is that 34.99 for the whole kit and caboodle for the car ? or just the replacement filter for the end ? ...
I got a hurricane - and that's loud (people tell me they can hear it when I go past the building)
trunking going on in five mins

you basically get what you see in the photo, the cone shielded filter and a few adapter rings which you wont need. im cutting my stainless pipe in half as its too long, i you want ill try and adapt both bits the same if you want me to get you one of these.
bill/scotty bling it certainly is, it shows the rest of the engine bay up!
because there is no turbo etc involved the single "taiwan's finest" (hehe well put!) seems to do fine, ducting and photos to follow this weekend.

Bling ? where ? - not sure the seat grill badge strut top covers will catch on
If its like mine its just for the filter, but you can get the parts to fit it very cheaply - i've just done the same thing on mine. I'll try and post some pics up on monday.
ooh, and found an alternative for the samco hose that goes on to the intake manifold :)
Are you constructing your own piping bits and bobs then brendy for the filter to go onto etc then brendy for the 2.0 16v ? ... if you want to do that and ill pay whatever , that'll be good :)

yup its for my 16v cordy, it'll probably not be the slickest thing ever but if im doing the two, you will get the better of the two, probably the second one!!
Ill do mine then get a pic of it up when finished, tell us what you think then.
Yeah no problem ... look forward to it . :)

brett picked up the necessary tools from diy place and should have something sorted midweek if i can get my fat finger out!
oh i also sorted out some spt for an air feed 110x54mm ducting its a letterbox shape so itll fit a little better behind the bumper instead of round stuff.
Good stuff.. let the work commence :) , keep me posted with pics etc. .. look forward to the finished product ..
