Just a quicke.

Before I go down the road ( :p ) of chipping and getting the Cupra R body kit for my Leon (when it is available) do such things add value or devalue the car?

Would I be right in assuming that they would add value if you were selling to an enthusiast in a private sale. But devalue it if you are doing a trade in for a new car at a Seat dealer?

Anyone got any experience or ideas about this?

Cheers,

Syphon

I have been modifying cars for about 8 yrs now and my experience is that most modified cars are of no interset to local dealers and you end up selling on the private market!

You do not normally get back the money that you would spend on the modifications that you will do!

My last car was a modded Mk3 Golf and the car was £12,000 and £11,000 was spent on it and it was sold for £5500!

Dont let it put you off though as mods make the car into what you want it to become and there are always buyers out there that would take it off your hands! Just dont do anything too off the wall as it will reduce your market for buyers!

Good luck!

Thanks for that. Thought as much.

Ths is my third Seat and I have always traded with dealers.

Will have to think hard before doing anything dramatic!
