I'm soon going to be ordering an Ibiza FR TDi....but I can't decide what colour.

I'm stuck between the Black and the Flash Red. Altho I think the black looks sweet, I think it might be a pain to keep clean + shiny

What do people think (and why!)...black or red?

I steered clear of black because of the dirt issue. I also stayed away from red, as it fads. My wife wants yellow! Guess what colour it is? Yup Yellow! Research shows that yellow cars have 20% fewer accidents. The claim is they are more easily seen in all weather conditions. i know that rescue helicopters find yellow boats easier to find than any other colour, so it may be true.

on the subject of colour i was really disappointed with the choices available for the FR, bearing in mind you have to have "titanium" wing mirrors. i thought the volcano red was a cracking colour and i could not have had that. It would have saved me being yellow!!

I went for Flash Red in the end. With paints nowadays, fading isn't nearly as much as a problem as it used to be. Especially not in the length of time I'll prob have the car for.

I was disappointed with the range of colours too.....but the red stole it for me over the black - got put off by the fact that black is a mare to keep clean

Probably a good idea, the black is awful for stone chips :( and there are far too many black FR's :D

Saw a Yellow TDI Sport absolutely tearing up the M5 on Saturday, could see him coming miles off, so no wonder they have fewer accidents.
A platinum FR would disguise those dodgy wing mirrors the best, but I've seen a red one about and it looks really nice especially when the sun is shining on it.
Personally I would go for Glacier Blue if it's available as it's different, subtle and hides the dirt well.

Go for red and save a couple of hundred quid....

I haven't seen any FRs on the road yet so I'm looking forward to being a rare occurrence! But I think you're right, there are a load of black FRs based on ppl on this site - which isn't a bad thing cos black does look superb!

Andy,

Blk looks the :censored: when clean & there's no colour to beat it -when clean, however it is a bugger to keep clean!! I have a Blk LCR & it look sweet when it's clean but it is a full time job to keep it that way!

Why don't you look into having emotion red (new colour) instead of Flash red - it's a much richer deeper red, but still bright - saw two cars parked next to each other Monday one was Falsh red the other Emotion red & compared to the the Emotion red the flash looked like it had faded and was bleached out
