Just reading another posted topic, someone raised the point that the fuel gauge is a bit innacurate which I agree with entirely, especially when it's getting low. Has anyone noticed other instrumentation being innacurate too? Recently I was followed by a police car through a 50 mph limit....naturally I kept the needle on/slightly below 50 all the way through but I was pulled over at the next layby and told with a 'friendly warning' that I was averaging almost 60, his police car speedo was calibrated therefore v. accurate, etc. etc. Either he was talking from where the sun don't shine or my speedo's way out.....any comments?

Fuel gauges are unaccurate when they get low due to the shape of your fuel tank.

As for speedos, i think the copper was talking out of his ass, how can you average 60mph, you'd need to do 90 odd mph over a couple of miles???
