View Full Version : cupra cage quirey
Here's a question, I spoke to safety devices at Autosport International this year, with regards to a half cage for the rear, the company don't make a specific cage for the new 1.8T Ibiza's but they make one for the 16V, would the bodies/chassis be the same apart from the obvious cosmetic differences? The only reason I ask is because my mate had a mk3 polo gt and fitted a g40 cage and there was a subtle difference which meant the cage had to be mounted about 1.5 inches forward of it's intended position, and basically never was quite right......it was hack sawed out 3 weeks later!!!!
cheers guys, sausage

I believe Custom Cages did the Full cages for the Seat UK track cars.
Amethyst and or APR might have one left over for sale maybe.
regards
Bill

Oi flapper, you don't have time to be answering trivial questions about finding me a cage when you have got more important things to do........like find my injector seats!!! only joking flapper
This is what my car looks like because of four small plastic cups!!!!!!
a very unhappy sausage.
Erm - yer bumpers missing mate.
why is it not there?? and what four plastic cups?
Hi
I have one of the old 16V trackday cars and this has a cage from Custom Cages in. Unknown if it will fit the 20VT - more than welcome to take some measurements off mine if you want (I live just south of manchester) or at one of next Seat meets
There are others made for ibiza - check the demon tweeks catologue - OMP and safety devices have them
Cheers
Rob
Sausage... why not call custom cages? I'm sure they'll bosh one in.
Daventry (just like all the other good things in life) I think *cough*
Well Mark, it's all because I am searching for perfection. I work for myself in fact didn't I email you a few weeks ago? Anyway I polish and chrome engine parts (amongst other things!)normally things are fairly straight forward, only when it comes to my own demo car I've hit a brick wall. I had to remove the injector seats which are plastic so I could dip and plate the inlet manifold but I now find out that the cups are on back order and are gonna take about two weeks to arrive and the car has been off the road for three full weeks already. And I'm pretty gutted about it. So I am filling my time by hunting for other cool stuff for the car, Hey do you have custom cages number? I tried www.customcages.co.uk but thats a company making heated reptile enclosures!!!! not really what I want in my boot, but that would certainly be a first, eh?
click the attachment below to see how it's going!
Sausage,
i'm on the case SORT OF
BAD NEWS
part number you require is 06B-133-555D and are indeed £25.59 each +vat (29.30)
