i may be able to get my hands on a very cheap PD150 turbo. if i do and i want to fit it on to my PD130 (vnt 17) will it fit straight on? they look physiscally identical, also would the car run ok , would there be flat spots? would it overboost too much and cause limp mode or will it run just fine? the main reason id change it is not because of more power but for durability reasons as mine is chipped.
you can run one, but I know there are a few changes that you need to do or it will go into "limp mode". But only when really nailing it. The actually physical turbo will bolt on without a problem.
I'll find out exactly what needs to be done and post back an update. :)

thanx, will appreciate that
what I've been told is:
- if you do a straight swap, you'll have problems at high rpms (the car will go into limp mode) so you'll need to swap the low pressure box on the turbo. Other than that there are no required changes.

What is a low pressure box? Then what's the name of the 150's turbo? I thought both the 150 and the 130 were running the VNT-17 but then the 150's I know it's made of titanium. does the 130's is the same?

is it possible that vnt17's have different compressor wheels for different models ?

they are both VNT 17 but the 150 has titanium wheel, just wondering though if the 130 is chipped and its at 1.5 to 1.6bar would it not be ok and not overboost? i thought there would be more problems if it was standard at 1.3bar. does anyone know what the boost is with a revo map on a 150?
You shouldn't have a problem with the 130 vnt-17 doing 1.6bar of boost. 1.6 is what a revo 150pd remap does.
they are both vnt17 (different references though, check sticky at top of this section). the Low pressure box, is what the N75 connects to (the cylinder type box with arm connected to the turbo).

sorry prc i meant to say if a 150 turbo was on a 130 and the 130 was set to 1.6bar the same as a 150, then the turbo should be a fit without problems because it would be boosting the same as a 150 anyway?
what boost is a revo 130 set at?
a standard 130 map does around 1.4bar of boost.
Well you'd be running the 150 turbo at almost standard boost. If your running 1.6bar, then I'd say stick with the OE turbo and not worry much about upgrading. If you start going a bit higher >1.65bar then I'd think about it.

Thx for the explanations paulo, I think I got it.
Wow, 1.6 bars of pressure,,, that's a load,,, now I can understand why did they make it in titanium,,, Mine dose 1.1 and it's chipped,,,
My engine is quite old designed,,, can't really afford a newer one tho,,,
