Hi,
This thread is a bit academic because I don't plan on modifying my car's performance until my warranty runs out which is still quite a while, I just wanted your opinion on these options.

Do you think it would be better to get Nitrous Oxide or my car Revo'd (or the equivalent)?

I know nitrous can increase your car's performance by between 25 and 250 bph (I'd go for 50bhp) but I don't know how this would compare with gains from something like a Revo. I know wheelspin would be a problem with both. Your opinions would be appreciated.

I have a cousin who is head mechanic at a garage which fits nitrous so getting the gas and install shouldn't be a problem.

unless the nitrous now maps more fuel into your engine & doesn't run it so hot & doesn't cost so much to use then i can't see how it compares...

From what I know, Nitrox is designed for a short sharp power boost...in other words, not designed to be in continual use all the time. REVO on the other hand will be added power all the time!

Why don't you get both?? Now, that would be interesting!!

Haha, if I had both I'd end up upside down in a field somewhere!

I plan to do both, N2O is expensive but despite what many people tell you is safe and wont destry your engine if it's done right.

The right way to use Nitrous is to get yourself a progressive controller to feed in say a 50bhp shot gradually over 3seconds then hold the 50bhp for another 3 seconds. If you run a wet system which adds the correct amount of fuel as well as the nitrous then you shouldn't have any problems with overheating etc.

The only down side is you're looking at over £1k for for a kit with a progressive controller and then about £60 a refil of the bottle :o
