Ibiza V's 306 GTi6

I currently drive a 106 Xsi and am looking to sell it on with getting a Ibiza Cupra in mind. Now I had the chance to get a 306 GTi6 (as a kind of hand me down... not bad I know http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif but didn't for the reason my sister drove it over a 5inch high island and cause bout 1000 pounds worth of damage... doh...
anyway I wanted to ask what people though bout the 2 cars, cos I have driven both and the 306 goes like poo of a stick and drives like a dream but so does the ibiza. I posted this question in a peugeot newsgroup and some people said the 306 was a 'better' car other said they were bout even... just wondering on people's thought...

The GTI 6 has long been a favorite in the hot hatch kingdom.

Handling wise and almost everything else...its a brilliant car.

BUT.....Its french...not sure on the reliability...and it costs a packet!

And its pretty old now....and the 306 shape is everywhere!

Ibiza Cupras are still rare...and excellent VFM interms of fun/reliability/quality/gizmos.

I own one...and i love it!!

306 handles MUCH better out of the box, 20VT engine superb with huge torque, 20VT build quality better, cheaper.

Ave rased a gti-6 and I could pull away on the straights no problem but he kept catching on the corners as i was taking it canny as i only hav had the car for 2 months's, go for the cupra.
