View Full Version : radio interference noise
I have recently installed my new mini disc head unit (sony MDX-M690) to my Leon 1.6, the sound from the system is excellent, all apart from when i go and listen to the MW an LW band on the stereo (for the football commentary), i get to hear a high pitch engine squeel as and when i accelerate,
i was wondering would this aerial adapter suppress this noise and get me a clearer signal, i cant even hear any stations due to all the noise.

or would i just need another type of noise suppressor.
MW/LW ??? what station you after ??
didnt think there was any left ???
wonder what happens when it all goes DIGITAL ?
OOOOOPS , SEAL THE CAN ,SEAL THE CAN
I am after radio 5 or talksport, as none of the FM stations do live commentary or sport updates that i can access.
Radio 5 would be very handy on a saturday afternoon for the scores.
yeah true , same ere on the odd occasion :D
i would try an aerial in line suppressor first , easiest one , then go from there

I have the same problem with my Pioneer head unit. The MW/LW reception is non-existant but I've not been too worried as I listen to FM.
Had the same problem with an earlier Kenwood deck - but the factory Aura unit is fine - must be the booster thingy you can add that will resolve the problem. Have a look here (http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/tech/reception.php3) , it's the same product but with some added info.
Hey Aber1 - glad to see there is someone else from Neath on the forum. Do you have a Y reg black Leon? Mine's a techno grey TDi SE. Did you use FRF Seat?
Thanks Flapper and Dean,
I think i will have to try one of those cables then.
My black Leon is a new "02" mark picked it up on march 1st from FRF Seat, after a couple of delays, not their problem.
I havent seen any other Leons in neath yet but i will keep my eyes open now i know there is someone else.
