Iv had a few quotes for my 20k at £195 to £295! £195 being a Seat garage over an hour away. The 20k is only filters and fluids and i'm sure theres nothing else wrong. I'v always taken my older cars to a trusted local garage in my area and I know they won't charge as much and there just down the road. The only thing I can think a Seat garage my have an advantage over on this service is the diagnostics computer but I'v had no lights come on. What do you think? + Will this effect my warranty?
I had similar quotes, and posted the same question on here about a month ago. My nearest garage is in Newbury and they quoted £295 all-inclusive. Humphris in Oxford quoted me £210 but charged me about £150 - I don't know why, I didn't complain! They did cause a big scratch in the hatchback door, however...hang on....maybe that's why it was cheaper than estimated? Hmmm....
Oh and I think not having it serviced at a Seat garage might affect the resale value a bit.
You can keep you warranty and have it serviced outside the dealer network as long as you stick to the service schedule and use genuine OEM parts. Read up on block exemption on the DTI website.
