Hi. I live in Mexico City and I have a few questions regarding the Seat cars.
As you probably know, Seat began operations in my country about 4 months ago but they don’t offer all the cars range. They only offer the Ibiza and the Córdoba in Stella mode (1.6 100 hp) and the Toledo and Leon with the 20v (1.8 125hp) and the 1.8T (180 hp) engines.

I was visiting this site and found the Ibiza Cupra and I fell in love with that baby. VW Mexico told me that bringing the Cupra to my country is not very likely because of the probably low sells that this car will have.

Anyway, this is my problem… right now I can not afford the Leon 180 hp, so I am between the Leon 125 hp with payments for a couple of years or the Ibiza 100hp full equipped (electric package, sunroof) with no debts and with the possibility to sell it when the Ibiza Cupra hits Mexico. So, I ask for your advice in which car do you think that I must choose.

Also, I want to know which of my two options has the higher “tuneability” in the performance department, I want springs, chip, torsion bars, larger wheels (17”), etc.

Thanks for your time!!!

Hi there

Its a bit weird to say the least how SEAT market their cars in other countries, its completly different in the UK than it is to mainland Europe.

I would go for the Leon 1.8 20v its pratically the same engine except for the lack of Turbo and the manifold etc may be altered, as will the gearing.

Should still be able to be chipped, though i can not vouch for that, but it wont give as vast an improvement in power as the chip does on a Turbo model.

Wheels will happily go upto 18" with no arch modifications needed, though 17" may be better for handling.

Springs and Dampers are available, Strut Braces or Torsion bars are not as far a i know, but probably wont be long, Brakes can be upgraded.

Still a very modifiable car. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/wink.gif

Same applys to the Ibiza really, the Ibiza will possibly be quicker due to the Leons weight.

Hope i've helped a little http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif

Chips are nicer in Engines than with Fish.
