Removing the Charcoal Canister shortly to make way for an extra duct.
I did that on Saturday last week for my inlet. - just pulled the hoses off the top & connected together:)
Couldent get the bastid clips off, so got chopping [B)]
does removing this canister actually achieve anything noticable? it's the one down the front drivers side corner yes? it's an emission device isn't it.

removing it let me run some better cold air feeds
just cold air feeds. thats it? not worth the hassle surely.
yeah - i can 't ever be bothered to remove something that took all of 30 seconds to take off & will take the same should it fail it's MOT (which I doubt it will)
feeds cold air into my filter, so yes, it is worth the bother, else my car will a) run shit b) suck in hot air.
yer the charcoal canister was easy to remove and have more cool air around the filter
better than a kick in the bollocks by a long way ;)

bling well and truely under way then stu, give that manifold a good dremmelling and get the highest heat resistant paint you can find, black would suit it.
that can wait until its service/oil cooler fitting :)
SPT has come a long way :)
seeing the size of the filter i now c the point. it's mahosive chap! (no cheap gags please). the k+n on the 8v is tiny in comparison and has loads of room for the cold air feed.
however what does a charcoal canister do exactly? does anyone know?
Its one of the biggest Green do for a 75mm neck;)
It collects fuel vapour when the engine stops running and releases it pack into the system when you start back up?
and that achieves what exactly? is it another emission device that the EU think was a good idea then.
