Recommended octane number

I just got my new 156 HP Ibiza 20 v T Sport. SEAT recommends 95 octane for the engine. Is it a MINIMUM demand? I can fill up the tank with 98/99 octane. Is it worth the extra money? Will I get better performance?

We have had this topic before I think. Have a search for Unleaded, I think the general conclusion is that Super Unleaded feels quicker and in some cases gives better fuel performance.

I have always used Super from either Esso or Shell.

Yep if you can, always use Super Unleaded 97/98 RON fuel, it will provide better throttle response, and burns much leaner in the engine.

To be honest the premium isnt that much more, but you can always run it on 95 RON fuel anyway if its too expensive.

I have just recently started running my 8v Cupra on Super, and there is definetly something to be said for it, throttle response is keener, and fuel consumption marginally better.

If you look at the inside of your fuel filler thingy......it will say 95 or 98 RON Fuel is ok.

I've been using Shell's Advanced Super Unleaded for the last few months....and so it might cost a couple of quid more on a full tank...but boy is the stuff good!

This week, i've added a bottle of STP Octane Booster to a full tank of Super aswell. And its already showing signs of money well spent!

So yeah.....give the motor some high octane stuff...it loves it!!

I was thinking of the STP Octaine Booster for my Leon, can it do any harm? And One bottle per full tank you say?

And should you keep adding it?
